All your contacts on Xiaomi Redmi are missing? The situation is familiar to many: I took my phone and the call list is empty, the messengers do not pull up names, and the Contacts app flaunts the words "No contacts." The reasons can be different: from accidental deletion to failure after the MIUI update. But you should not panic - in 90% of cases the numbers can be returned.
In this article, we’ll look at all the working ways to restore contacts on Redmi Note 10/11/12, Redmi 9/10/13C and other models, from simple methods (synchronization with Google) to advanced ones (using ADB and MIUI backups), and how to protect contacts from loss in the future – with settings that few people know about.
⚠️ Note: If you have tried to reconnect and have done a Factory Reset, the chances of success are reduced. But even then, check all the ways in the article - sometimes numbers are saved in unexpected places.
First, determine where your contacts were stored before they disappeared:
- 📱 Locally on the phone (only in the device memory)
- ☁️ Google account (synchronized with the cloud)
- 📶 Nana SIM-The old method (but some still use it)
- 🔄 Backup. MIUI (if you have included backup in the settings)
It depends on which recovery method works. Start with the simplest one: checking sync with Google.
1. Restore contacts through a Google account (the fastest way)
If you've ever logged into a Google account on your Redmi and enabled contact sync, all numbers could automatically be saved to the cloud.
Open the Contacts app (a human silhouette icon) → click on the three dots in the top right corner → select Settings → Contact Management → Contact Sync. Your Google account should be displayed here with a tick opposite Contacts.
If synchronization was enabled but no contacts appeared:
- Go to Settings → Accounts and Sync → Google.
- Select your account and make sure the Contacts switch is active.
- Click on Sync (or Update in new versions of MIUI).
⚠️ Note: If contacts are duplicated after synchronization (old and new versions of the same number appear), do not manually delete them! Use the "Contacts Unite" function in the Contacts app settings».
💡
To avoid losing contacts in the future, enable automatic synchronization in your Google account settings. Go to Settings → Accounts → Google → Account Sync and activate the “Data Autosynchronization” option.

- 🔌 USB-cable (preferably original).
- 📦 Installed drivers Xiaomi and ADB Tools.
- 🔧 Included debugging by USB on the phone (Settings) → The phone. → Version. MIUI → 7 times to unlock the developer menu, then Settings → Additionally. → For developers → Debugging by USB).
Step-by-step:
- Connect Redmi to your computer and allow debugging (a request will appear on your phone).

- Enter the command to extract the contact base: adb pull /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts2.db
- If the contacts2.db file is copied to your computer, open it with the DB Browser for SQLite program.
- In the table raw_contacts Find your contacts and export them to.vcf.
⚠️ Warning: This method only works if the data has not been overwritten by new contacts. If you add at least one number after you go missing, the chances of recovery fall.
💡
ADB is the most powerful recovery method, but it requires technical skills, and if you are not confident in your abilities, it is better to consult a specialist or use the simpler methods in this article.
6.Advocate for Xiaomi (if nothing worked)
If you’ve tried all the ways and never made contact, the last option is official Xiaomi support, and in some cases, they can recover data from server backups, especially if the problem occurred after the MIUI update.
How to make a request:
Attach screenshots (e.g., an empty list of contacts or recovery errors).
Support usually responds within 24 to 48 hours, and if the problem is massive (like after a global MIUI failure), they can offer a solution faster.
⚠️ Warning: Don’t accept a data recovery fee if offered on behalf of Xiaomi. Official support doesn’t charge for such services. Fraudsters often create fake social media accounts by posing as support.
7. How to protect contacts from future loss
To never again face missing numbers, set up a layered contact protection on your Xiaomi Redmi:
- ☁️ Enable automatic sync with Google: Settings → Accounts. → Google → Synchronization of the account → Contacts (on.).
- 🔄 Create a backup copy MIUI: Settings → The phone. → Backup → Local backups → Create a backup.
- 📤 Export contacts to file once a month: Open Contacts» → «Imports/Exports» → «Export to file" (save.vcf to mail or cloud).
- 🛡️ Set a strong password on your Mi Account so that no one can reset settings remotely.
⚠️ Note: If you use two of these SIM-maps, contacts may be duplicated or saved to the wrong card. Check the default save settings in the Contacts app» → «Settings» → «Maintaining contacts».
💡
Create a backup Google account and periodically export contacts to it, so you get double protection: if the main account is hacked or blocked, the numbers will remain in the backup.
