You have enabled a call recording on Xiaomi Redmi 9 but can’t find the saved file? This problem is familiar to many Xiaomi smartphone users – standard call recording apps often hide files in non-obvious folders, and sometimes don’t save them at all without additional settings. In this article, we’ll take a look at all possible places where records from your Redmi 9 can be stored, including hidden system directories, cloud services and third-party applications.
The Redmi 9 (M2003J15SC, M2003J15SS and other modifications) is not all firmware equally featured in Xiaomi’s proprietary Call Recording app, for example, on the global version of MIUI, files can be stored in one place and in Chinese one in another. - Open the “Conductor” from Xiaomi.
- Slip on three lines in the upper left corner → Settings.
- Activate the option to show hidden files.
3. Cloud Storage: Mi Cloud and Google Drive
Xiaomi can automatically sync call records to the cloud — especially if you have Backup enabled in your Mi Account settings.
- ☁️ Mi Cloud: Go to Settings → Mi Account → Mi Cloud. Select backup copies → Find the Call Records section. If you have a copy, click Restore, the files will appear in the folder. /MIUI/sound_recorder/.

4. Records from third-party applications
If you installed alternative programs to record calls (e.g. Cube Call Recorder, ACR, Boldbeast), the files will be stored in other folders.
- 🎤 Cube Call Recorder: /storage/emulated/0/CubeBackup/ or /storage/emulated/0/CallRecorder/.
- 📞 ACR (Another Call Recorder): /storage/emulated/0/ACR/ (file-format.3gp).
