Where on Xiaomi are stored phone records: a full guide to search for files

Have you turned on a call recording on Xiaomi but can’t find the saved file? Or have you accidentally deleted an important audio recording and want to restore it? In this article, we’ll look at all possible locations for storing call records on Xiaomi smartphones, from standard folders in the device’s memory to cloud services and hidden system directories.

The problem is that file layouts vary depending on the MIUI version, the phone model, and even regional settings. For example, on the Redmi Note 10 Pro with MIUI 13, records can lie in one place, and on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra with MIUI 14, we've gathered up-to-date information for all modern firmware versions and explain how to find, copy or transfer audio files to your computer.

Important: If you use third-party recording apps (like Cube Call Recorder or ACR), the path to the files will be different. This article only talks about the built-in call recording feature in the standard Phone app.

Standard location of call records in MIUI

By default, Xiaomi saves audio recordings of conversations in a folder MIUI/sound_recorder/call_rec But the path may change depending on the internal drive:

How to enable the display of hidden files (if the folder is not visible)

Sometimes the file is hidden by the system, so you can see it.

1. Open the Files app.
2. Slip on three dots in the upper right corner → Settings.
3. Activate the switch to show hidden files.
4. Go back to the root directory (/storage/emulated/0/) and check for the MIUI or Recordings folder.

If the folder is still missing, it is possible:

Call recording settings: where to change the save location

By default, Xiaomi saves the records to the internal drive, but you can redirect them to the memory card or to the cloud.

1. Open the Phone app.
