Where is the basket in the standard MIUI Gallery
The interface of the standard Gallery app on Xiaomi smartphones may vary slightly depending on the firmware version, but the logic of the arrangement of the elements remains the same. First, you need to open the application, which usually has an icon in the form of a flower on a blue or white background. At the bottom of the screen is a navigation bar where we are interested in the tab "Albums".
It's in the album section that the system folder for deleted files is hidden, and scroll down to the very end, and you'll see the "Other Albums" category, or the "Deleted" item, and you click on it, and you'll go to the same repository where all the deleted images and videos go before they're destroyed.

To find these copies, use the File Manager Explorer built-in. Go to the Internal Drive section and look for folders with application names. The path often looks like Android/media/com.whatsapp or MIUI/gallery/cloud. Sometimes you can find thumbnails or originals that you forgot about.
Also worth mentioning are specialized data recovery software such as DiskDigger or PhotoRec, which can scan memory for tails of deleted files, but deep scanning on modern versions of Android often requires root rights, which can void warranty and disrupt banking applications.
