Accidental removal of important images is a stressful situation that almost every Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco smartphone owner has faced. Often we swipe photos in a hurry or clear the memory without noticing that we have erased the right frame. However, it is too early to panic, since the MIUI and HyperOS operating system provide several levels of data protection, allowing you to return images without using complex paid software.
The first thing to do immediately after a missing person is to stop actively using your phone and not taking new pictures, which is critical because new data can overwrite the memory sectors where your “deleted” files are physically stored. In this article, we will discuss all the current methods of image return, from built-in functions to cloud services.
The effectiveness of recovery depends on how long ago the deletion act was committed and what sync settings were activated on your device earlier. Check the built-in basket in the Gallery application
The easiest and most often forgotten way to return images is to check the system folder "Recently deleted." In the shell of MIUI and the new HyperOS, files are not permanently erased immediately, but are moved to a special buffer where they are stored for 30 days, and if less than a month has passed since deleting, your photos are likely to be there.
To access this repository, you need to open the standard Gallery app and go to the Album tab. Scroll down to the bottom of the list where you will find Recently Deleted (or Trash), which displays all images and videos that have been manually removed by the user but not yet automatically cleaned by the system.
Select the files you want with a long press and press Recover, and then the images will return to their original albums with the date of shooting and metadata, and if you have cleared the cart or more than 30 days have passed, this method, unfortunately, will not help, and you will have to resort to more complex options.
