1. Standard method: through the Files app
The easiest method is to use a built-in conductor MIUI. It is pre-installed on all Xiaomi smartphones and supports the work with the SD-It's a map without any extra settings:
- Open the Files app** (an icon with a folder on your desktop or in the app menu).
- At the top of the screen, select the Device tab** (or Internal Storage if the interface is in English).

To provide the application with access to SD-map:
- Install the selected explorer from Google Play.
- Run it and go to the settings (usually a button with three dots or a gear).
- Find the "Storage" section or «SD-card and provide all the requested permissions.
⚠️ Attention: MIUI 14/15 Some applications may not be able to see SD-The card is limited by Scoped Storage (the new Android access policy), and only manual mounting through the device will help. ADB or resetting the card settings.
3. Connection SD-cards to the computer via smartphone

Important: Do not delete or edit files with.db,.idx or Android folders, DCIM/.thumbnails – this can lead to app crashes or loss of thumbnails of photos.
5. Solving problems: SD-The card is not defined or opened

To reset access rights through ADB:
- Install ADB Tools on your PC.
- Connect your smartphone to your computer and activate Debugging over USB (Settings → For Developers).
- In the command line, execute: adb shell sm set-force-adoptable true Then: adb shell sm list-volumes Find the line with private or emulated in the output - it's yours. SD-Remember her. ID (for example, 1234-5678).
- Do: adb shell sm forget 1234-5678 (replace 1234-5678 with your ID).
- Reboot your smartphone. The map needs to be redefined.

6. Features of working with SD-map MIUI
MIUI firmware is updated regularly, and with each new version, the nuances of working with external drives change.
- MIUI 12/13: Adoptable Storage support (the card is formatted as internal memory), but the function is hidden in the developer settings. To activate it, you need to execute the command adb shell sm set-force-adoptable true.
- MIUI 14: Removed Adoptable Storage for new devices, mounted only as removable drives, and a separate tab was added to the explorer «SD-map».
- MIUI 15 (Android 14): Additional restrictions on application access to external drives have been introduced due to the Scoped Storage policy.
To check the version of MIUI on your smartphone:
- Go to Settings. → The phone.
