Switching from iPhone to Xiaomi smartphone is a crucial step, especially if the old device has accumulated hundreds of important notes. Apple and Xiaomi use different ecosystems, so direct data transfer is often a problem. In this article, we will discuss all the current ways of migration of notes, from standard solutions through the cloud to alternative methods using third-party applications.
The main difficulty is that iOS syncs notes with iCloud by default, and MIUI on Xiaomi is focused on Google Account or its own Mi Cloud. Fortunately, there are workarounds that allow you to save formatting, attachments and even color tags. It is important to understand that some methods may require preliminary preparation - for example, export notes to a universal format or install additional utilities.
If you're afraid of losing data, we recommend backing up your iPhone notes first via iTunes or Finder (for macOS Catalina and later), which will take no more than 5 minutes, but will eliminate the risks.
1. Transfer of Notes via iCloud and Mail
The most reliable way for users who are actively using iCloud. Apple allows you to export notes in.zip format and then import to Xiaomi through an email client, this method saves text content, but may not support attachments (photos, scans).
Instructions:
- π± Open on iPhone Settings β [Your name] β iCloud and make sure the switch opposite the Notes is active.
- π Go from your computer to iCloud.com, log in and select the "Notes" section".
- π§ Select the necessary notes (or press Cmd)+A to select all, and click on the Send Copy icon (letter) and include your email (preferably Gmail, as it integrates better with your email. MIUI).
- π² On Xiaomi, open the Mail or Gmail app, find an attachment letter and save notes manually to Xiaomiβs Notes app.
β οΈ Note: If your notes are more than 50, iCloud can break them into multiple emails. Check the spam folder, sometimes emails with large attachments get there.
Advantages of the method:
- β Does not require the installation of third-party applications.
- β Preserves the text structure (markers, paragraphs).
- β It works even on older versions of iOS (starting with 10.0).
Disadvantages:
- β Investments (photos, documents) may not be transferred.
- β With a large number of notes, the process becomes laborious.
2. synchronization through Google Account
If you plan to actively use Google services on Xiaomi, this method will be optimal. It allows you to automatically synchronize notes between devices through Google Keep or Googleβs standard Notes app.
Step-by-step:
- On your iPhone, install the Google Keep app from the App Store.
- Sign in with the same Google account that will be used on Xiaomi.
- Manually copy the text of each note from the standard Notes app (iOS) in Google Keep. To speed up the process, you can use the Share function (the square icon with the arrow up) β Copy in Google Keep.
- On Xiaomi, install Google Keep from Play Market and log in under the same account. All notes will appear automatically.
Alternatively, use Googleβs Notes app (not to be confused with Mi Notes!):
- π± Install on iPhone "Google Notes".
- π Enable synchronization in the application settings.
- π² On Xiaomi, open the standard Notes app, go to Settings β Import and select "Google Account".
β οΈ Note: When you migrate through Google Keep, color tags and folders from iOS will not be saved. If the structure of the notes is critical, use the method with export to the Internet.PDF (described below).

3. Use of third-party applications (Evernote, Notion, OneNote)
If you prefer cross-platform solutions, third-party apps are the perfect option: they support automatic synchronization, save formatting, and allow you to work with notes on any device.
| Annex | Advantages | Deficiencies | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Evernote | Tag support, document scanning, text search in PDF | Restriction on free fare (60 MB/month) | Free (premium from 490) β½/month) |
| Notion | Flexible structure (databases, tables), integration with calendar | A complex interface for beginners | Free (pro version from 390) β½/month) |
| Microsoft OneNote | Free 5GB storage, handwriting support | Less user-friendly mobile interface | Free of charge. |
Instructions for Evernote (similar to other services):
- Download Evernote on iPhone and Xiaomi.
- On iPhone, open the standard note β Share β Copy in Evernote.
- Select a folder to save (for example, βImport from iPhoneβ).
- On Xiaomi, log in to the same account β all notes are synchronized automatically.
Important: Evernote, on a free rate, limits downloads to 60MB per month. If you have a lot of attachment notes, consider Notion or OneNote.
4. Computer Transfer (export to PDF/HTML)
This method is suitable for users who want to keep the full design of notes, including fonts, colors and attachments. We export notes to a universal format and then import them to Xiaomi.
Steps for Mac or Windows:
- Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes (or Finder for macOS Catalina and later).
- Create a backup by selecting βThis Computerβ (not iCloud!).
- Download iMazing, a free trial, which allows you to export notes to.PDF,.HTML or.TXT.
- In iMazing, go to the "Application Management" section β "Notes", highlight the required entries and click "Export".
- Select PDF (saves the design) or HTML (for further importation to other applications).
- Transfer files to Xiaomi via USB-Cable or cloud (Google Drive, Mi Cloud).
- On Xiaomi, open files through Files or import them to Notes through the Import function.
β οΈ Note: When exporting to PDF Each note is saved as a separate file. If the notes are more than 100, we recommend using the note. HTML Import them via Notion or Evernote.
What if iMazing doesnβt see the notes?
5. Direct Cable Transfer (for Advanced Users)
If you do not want to use cloud or third-party services, you can transfer notes directly through the cloud. USB-This method requires access to the root folders of the iPhone, so it is only suitable for users with jailbreak or Mac owners.
Instructions for Mac:
- Connect your iPhone to your Mac and open the terminal.
- Run the command to access the note folder: cd ~/Library/Application\ Support/MobileSync/Backup/ iTunes backups are stored here.
- Find the last copy by date and copy it to your desktop: cp -r [name-folder-copy] ~/Desktop/iphone_backup
- Use iBackupBot (paid) or iExplorer (free trial) to extract notes from the backup.
- Export notes to CSV or TXT and transfer them to Xiaomi.
For Windows:
- π₯οΈ Install iExplorer.
- π Connect your iPhone and select the Notes section in the side menu.
- π Export notes to PDF or TXT.
- π² Transfer files to Xiaomi via USB Mi Drop.
β οΈ Warning: Direct access to iOS files without jailbreaking is limited. If iExplorer doesn't see the note, try creating a new backup via iTunes with the encryption disabled.
zip -er notes_secure.zip /path/k/folder/s/notesOn Windows, right-click on the folder β "Add to the archives" β set the password.-->
6. Automation through services such as Move to iOS (reverse port)
Appleβs official Move to iOS app is designed to transfer data from Android to iPhone, but with some tricks it can be used in the opposite direction.
Algorithm of action:
- On your iPhone, open Settings β Apple ID β iCloud and turn off synchronizing notes (so they stay only locally).
- Reset your iPhone to factory settings (Settings β Basic β Move or Reset β Erase Content and Settings).
- When you first set up your iPhone, select βData Transfer from Androidβ and follow the instructions using an Android device intermediate.
- On an Android device, install Move to iOS and transfer data (including notes) to your iPhone.
- Now plug in Xiaomi and use the standard βMi Moverβ (preinstalled on most models) to transfer data from your iPhone to Xiaomi.
This is a complicated process that requires an iPhone to be reset, but it retains the entire structure of notes, including folders and attachments, if other methods have failed.
π‘
Move to iOS is the only official way to transfer notes from iPhone to Android, but it requires a device reset. Use it only if other methods don't work.
Comparison of methods: which one to choose?
The choice of method depends on the number of notes, the need to save attachments and your willingness to use third-party services.
| Method | Keeps the investment | Keeps formatting | Demands a PC. | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| iCloud + mail | β No. | β Yes. | β No. | β |
