Hidden notes on Xiaomi Redmi 8 are not a myth, but a real feature that the manufacturer has integrated into MIUI firmware to protect sensitive information. Users often face a situation where important entries disappear from the standard Notes app, but take up space in the device’s memory. The reasons can be different from accidental hiding through the application menu to failures in the MIUI after the update.
In this article, we’ll look at all the ways you can access hidden notes, from basic (search in system folders) to advanced (use ADB and restore through backups). We’ll focus on the unique feature of Redmi 8: notes can be hidden in a secure partition of memory if the device is tied to a Mi Account with two-factor authentication.
1. Check the standard Notes app: where to look for hidden records
Before diving into the technical details, make sure the notes aren't hidden through the app itself. MIUI There is a built-in archiving and hiding feature that many users activate accidentally.
Open the Notes app and follow the following steps:
- 📌 Slip on the icon "Three dots" (upper right corner) → You can select Archives. You can store notes that you've manually archived.
- 🔍 In the search bar, type in the keyword from the missing note – sometimes the entries remain in the system but do not appear in the main list due to filters.
