Where Xiaomi Phone Stores Records of Conversations: All Ways to Find and Store Audio

Recordings of phone conversations on Xiaomi smartphones can be used in a variety of situations, from saving important business negotiations to fixing evidence in controversial moments. 1. Standard Phone app: where to look for records

The most obvious place is the built-in Phone app (or Calls in some versions of MIUI), where records are stored if you used the regular recording feature during a conversation, to find them:

1. Open the Phone app.

2. Go to the magazine tab (the icon of the clock at the bottom of the screen).

3. Find the contact or number you need to call.

4.Click on the call recording - if the conversation was recorded, a microphone icon or the inscription "Record" will appear next to it.

If the icon doesn't exist, it doesn't mean the record doesn't exist. It may be stored elsewhere. In newer versions of MIUI (starting with MIUI 12), records can be automatically archived to the Mi Cloud if sync is enabled.

Note that in some regions (e.g. the EU), the call recording feature in the standard app is legally disabled, in which case you will have to use third-party apps.

• 🚫 In Germany, France and some other countries, recording without the consent of the interlocutor is considered a violation of the law.
• ⚖️ Use in court: In Russia, records can be taken as evidence if they are not edited and made legally.

On Xiaomi smartphones sold in the EU, the call recording feature is often disabled by default due to legal restrictions, and it may require a change of firmware region to activate it (but this violates the warranty).
