Have you recorded an important conversation on your Xiaomi Redmi but can’t find the file? Or accidentally deleted the record and want to restore it? In this article, we’ll go into detail where the call records are stored on Redmi devices (including Note 12 Pro+, Redmi 10, Redmi 9T and others), how to find them manually, which apps use their own folders, and what to do if files are lost from memory.
The process of finding records depends on how you saved them: through the standard Phone application, third-party programs like Cube Call Recorder or ACR, or through the MIUI functions. We will consider all options, including hidden system folders, and give backup recommendations so that you do not lose important audio files.
If you are a Xiaomi user with MIUI 12/13/14, please note that file layouts may differ from those of pure Android. For example, some firmware versions automatically archive records to the Mi Cloud, as we will discuss below.
Standard place for storing calls in MIUI
By default, the Phone app (com.android.dialer) on Xiaomi Redmi stores conversation records in the system folder. The path depends on the version of MIUI and the smartphone model, but most often it is:
- 📁 Internal memory: /storage/emulated/0/MIUI/sound_recorder/call_rec/
- 📁 SD-map (if selected as a place of preservation): /storage/XXXX-XXXX/MIUI/sound_recorder/call_rec/ (where XXXX-XXXX — card)
- 🔍 Alternative path (for older versions) MIUI): /storage/emulated/0/Recordings/Call/
The files are.amr or.mp3 and are named by pattern: Call_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.amr, where YYYYMMDD — date, HHMMSS — Time of recording, for example, Call_20260515_143022.amr — record 15 may 2026 yearly 14:30:22.
⚠️ Note: If you can't see the folder MIUI Through the standard file manager, turn on the display of hidden files. To do this, in the Files app, click on the three dots in the upper right corner. → Settings → Show hidden files.
On some Redmi models (e.g. Redmi Note 11 Pro), recordings can automatically sync to the Mi Cloud to check this out:
- Open your Settings → Xiaomi Account → Mi Cloud.
- Check if synchronization is enabled for the Call Records section.
- If yes, download files from the cloud: go to Mi Cloud → Call Records.
Search for records through the application "Records" (Sound Recorder)
MIUI has a built-in Sound Recorder app that is sometimes used to save calls, and to find files through it:
- Open the Records app (the microphone icon on your desktop or in the app menu).
- Go to the Calls tab - if you have one.
- Click on the record to listen, or hold your finger to open the menu (there will be the option “Show in the folder”).
If there is no Call tab, your records are stored elsewhere (see previous section), but you can export files through Records:
- 📤 Select the record. → Press "Share» → Choose a messenger or cloud.
- 💾 Click on "Save a copy» → Specify the folder (for example, Download).
⚠️ Note: The Records app may not display files created by third-party programs (such as Cube Call Recorder). /storage/emulated/0/CubeBackups/ or /Android/media/com.cube.callrecorder/.

If you use third-party call recording software (e.g. ACR Call Recorder, Cube Call Recorder, Truecaller), the paths to the files will be different.

To find these folders:
- Open any file manager (e.g. Files by Google or built-in MI File Manager).
- Go to the internal memory section or SD-map.
- Enter the folder name (such as CallRecordings) in the search bar.
Important: Some applications (e.g. ACR) allow you to change the save path in settings. Check the settings if you don't find files on the standard path.

If the record is not playing, try renaming the file by adding the.mp3 extension manually. Sometimes MIUI systems cut the extensions when copying.
How to Recover Deleted Call Records
If you accidentally delete a record, you can try to restore it. Success depends on how long it has been since you deleted it and whether you used the device after that (new data can overwrite deleted files).
- Check the Recycle Bin: In the MIUI file manager, go to the Trash section. Deleted files are stored there for up to 30 days.
- Use Recovery Programs to Recover: 🛠️ DiskDigger (does not require root permissions to scan internal memory). 🛠️ Recuva (works through a PC, if you connect a smartphone as a drive). 🛠️ EaseUS MobiSaver (specializes in audio files).

To recover via DiskDigger:
- Install the app from Google Play.
- Select Full Scan (Full Scan)
- Check the file types: Audio (AMR, MP3).
- Wait for the scan to be completed and save the files to a safe place.
- ☁️ Through the Cloud: Upload files to Google Drive, Mi Cloud or Dropbox, then download to PC.
- 📧 Email: Send the records to yourself as an attachment (suitable for small files).
If the folders are not displayed when connecting via USB:
- Make sure that the Xiaomi drivers are installed on the PC (you can download from the official website).
- Try another one. USB-cable (preferably original).
- Enable USB Debugging in the Developer Settings (Settings → About Phone → MIUI Version → Press 7 times → Return to Additional Settings → For Developers).
