Where to look for a clipboard on Xiaomi phone: hidden menus and MIUI settings

You copy important text or a link, but you don't have time to paste it, and it disappears from the clipboard? On Xiaomi smartphones (including Redmi and POCO), copy history works differently than on the naked Android. The MIUI system hides the clipboard in non-obvious menus, and in new versions of the firmware it is also disabled by default. 3. Scroll down to the clipboard block – the last 20 copied fragments (text, links, phone numbers) will be displayed here.

The standard clipboard in MIUI has limitations:

2. Alternative ways to find a clipboard on Xiaomi

If the system buffer is not working or it is not enough, use alternative methods:

2.1. via the Gboard keyboard (Google)

The Gboard keyboard (set by default on most Xiaomi) has its own clipboard:

1. Open any field to enter text (such as WhatsApp or Notes).
2. Slip on the clipboard icon in the top panel of the keyboard (icon) 📋).
3. If there is no icon, hold your finger on the comma (,) → select the clipboard.

Advantages: Gboard stores up to 50 items and supports sync with your Google account.

2.2. via Mi Cloud (Xiaomi Cloud)

If you are logged in to Mi Account, the copied data can be automatically saved to the cloud:

1. Go to Settings. → Mi Account → Mi Cloud.
2. Find the clipboard section (or Data Synchronization → clipboard).
3. Activate the slider Synchronize the clipboard.

4. How to recover deleted data from the clipboard

If important text is missing from history, try these methods:

Checking the cache of the Files application

Sometimes copies are saved in the cache of the system file manager:

1. Go to Settings → Applications → Files → Storage.
2. Tap Cash and select View Files (if the option is available).
3. Look for clipboard folder or files with.clip extension.

4.2. Recovery through Mi Cloud backup

If the clipboard has been synchronized with the cloud:

1. Open Settings → Mi Account → Mi Cloud → Data Recovery
2. Select a backup with the desired date.
3. Check the clipboard and click Restore.

Important: Recovery will overwrite the current data in the buffer, pre-save important information in Notes or another application.
