Preparation for the renewal procedure
Before you start any manipulation, make sure that the robot vacuum cleaner is ready to work. Charge the device to 100%, as the process of writing a new firmware energy consumption may increase. Also check the purity of the contacts of the charging station and the robot to prevent interruption of charge during a long process.
You will need a mobile device (smartphone or tablet) with either the Mi Home or Xiaomi Home app installed. Make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, as most Xiaomi IoT devices models do not support the 5GHz band for initial setup.

Manual installation of firmware (ENG version)

To change the robot's language:

The robot will download the voice packet and apply it, and now it will greet you and report the cleaning status in Russian, and it is important to note that some older models may not support the full Russian interface even after flashing, limiting themselves to voice commands only.
⚠️ Note: When you change region in the Mi Home app, the device can disconnect from your account. You will need to re-connect the robot vacuum cleaner using Wi-Fi reset (clambing power and return buttons at the same time).

Recovery after failure (Unbrick)
If there is a power outage or a recording error during the firmware process, the robot can stop responding to commands, flash an orange indicator, or reboot endlessly, a condition called a brick, but the software brick is often corrected.
The first step is to try to reset, press the Reset button on the body or a combination of buttons (usually Home + Power) for 10-15 seconds, and if the robot emits an audible signal and resets, there is a chance to restore it through a regular update.
In more complex cases, a connection via a debugging interface (UART) is required.
