How long does it take to unlock?
If the Mi Unlock Tool is a Cann't unlock error or Current account is different from the account info on the device, check:

3. Choosing the Right Version of the Firmware

4. Installation of firmware through TWRP or Fastboot
There are two main ways to install a weekly firmware:
- Through TWRP (custom recovery) โ suitable for experienced users, allows you to make backups and install modified firmware.
- Through Fastboot, the official method from Xiaomi, requires a PC and command line.

Method 1: Installation via TWRP
If you have already been established TWRP, follow the instructions:

Method 2: Installation via Fastboot

- Download Fastboot firmware (.tgz or.zip file) from the official website.
- Unpack the archive in a folder on the disk C:\ (for example, C:\miui_weekly).
- Download and install the Mi Flash Tool.
- Turn the phone into Fastboot mode (turn it off, then press Volume Down + Power).
- Connect your phone to your PC and start the Mi Flash Tool.
- In the program, click Select, specify the folder with the unpacked firmware, then select Clean all (full cleaning) or Clean all and lock (clean + lock the bootloader).
- Press Flash and wait until it is completed (usually 5-10 minutes).
- Fingerprint/Face setting: In weekly firmware, biometrics may not work well โ if the fingerprint scanner doesnโt recognize the finger, restart the phone.
After setting up, check:

- Wipe Dalvik / ART Cache and Cache (Do not touch Data unless you want to lose data!).
- Reboot.
Method 2: Through built-in update (not always working)
Sometimes, weekly firmware supports local updates:
- Place the firmware file in the folder downloaded_rom root-directory.
- Go to Settings โ About the phone โ System update.
- Click on the three dots in the upper right corner and select Select the firmware file.
- Specify the downloaded file and confirm the installation.
