The box is the first and most reliable indicator of originality, and counterfeiters often skimp on print quality, materials, and trivia that are hard to see with the naked eye.

2. Appearance of the bracelet: what to check first
Even if the packaging looks perfect, the bracelet itself can give off a fake.
🔦 The original Mi Band 2 has a hardened glass screen with an oleophobic coating (repels fingerprints) and run a test: swipe across the screen, and the original has a barely visible trace that disappears after 1-2 seconds. On the fake, the traces remain for a long time, and the glass is often scratched even with the nail. Also check the screen backlight: the original has a uniform, no yellowness at the edges.
🔦 The button under the screen. On the original bracelet, the button has a metallic coating with a matte tint and a barely noticeable click when pressed. For fakes, the button is often plastic, clicks too loudly or fails without recoil. Press it 10 times in a row: The original tactile response remains the same, the copy can “stick” or creak.

🔦 The original strap is made of a thermoplastic elastomer (TPU) and has the following characteristics:

To check the quality of the strap, bend it in half: the original easily bends and returns to shape, and the fake can crack or remain deformed.
Verification by serial number and QR-code
It's the most reliable way to detect a fake, but it's often ignored (S/N) and QR-The code on the box and bracelet must match and be checked in the official databases of Xiaomi.

4. Tests of work: how does a fake behave in use
Even if the bracelet has been visually tested, its behavior at work can be fake.

- 🔹 A fake may not respond to charging for 5-10 seconds, blink chaoticly, or show an incorrect charge level.
📶 Synchronization with the phone:
- 🔹 The original connects to Mi Fit in 10-15 seconds, without errors.
- 🔹 A counterfeit may require a manual Bluetooth connection, issue an Unable to connect error, or be identified as an unknown device (e.g., LE-Band).
⏱️ Test of time and notifications:
- 🔹 The original time is synchronized with the phone automatically when you first connect.
- 🔹 A fake may show incorrect times (e.g. Chinese time zone) or not support notifications at all.

5.Firmware and Hidden Menus: Secret Codes to Check
The original Mi Band 2 has hidden service menus that allow you to verify the authenticity of the firmware, which are not in the forgeries or work differently.

- 🛒 Big Marketplaces: Wildberries – Look for 4.9-rated sellers+ Ozon – choose products marked “Original” and an official warranty. AliExpress – only at Top Brand Stores (for example, Xiaomi Official Store or Mi Global Store).
- 🤝 Buying by hand (Avito, Yula) is risky, but if the seller provides: Photo of the serial number on the box and bracelet. Check from the official store.
