Xiaomi Mi Band 4 is one of the most popular fitness bracelets on the market, combining affordable price, long-term autonomy and wide functionality. However, beginners often have questions about how to turn the device on, connect it to a smartphone and avoid typical errors when you first set up. This article will help you understand everything from charging the bracelet to synchronizing with the Mi Fit application.
Unlike smartphones, where turning on is reduced to squeezing the power button, with the Mi Band 4, the process is a little more complicated due to the lack of physical buttons. Here it is important to understand the sequence of actions: first charging, then activating through the application, and only then setting up notifications and additional functions. If you bought a used bracelet or after long storage, additional steps may be required, which we will also talk about.
Pay special attention to the firmware version of the bracelet β this depends on the compatibility with your smartphone and the availability of certain features. For example, Mi Band 4 with firmware below 1.0.7.14 may not support sync with iOS 15+ without prior update.
Preparation for the first inclusion: what to check before starting
Before you turn on the Xiaomi Mi Band 4, make sure you have everything you need:
- π Charger (comes in the kit; if lost - any fit with a connector) USB-A exiting 5V/1A).
- π± Smartphone on Android 5.0+ or iOS 10.0+ free-spaced.
- πΆ Stable Internet connection (for downloading the Mi Fit application and updating the bracelet firmware).
- β³ 10-15 minutes of time β setup will take no longer, but haste can lead to errors.
If the bracelet was stored for a long time without use (more than 6 months), its battery could run to zero, in which case the first charge can take up to 2 hours - this is normal.
β οΈ Note: Do not use chargers with output current more 1A (This can cause the Mi Band 4 battery to overheat and shorten its lifespan.
Also check the integrity of the sealing ring on the charging cable. If it is damaged or missing, the bracelet may not charge due to poor contact. In extreme cases, you can temporarily use a thin rubber gasket (for example, from the lid of the can), but it is better to order the original cable.
Bracelet charging: how to connect to the network
The Xiaomi Mi Band 4 can only be turned on after charging - in a completely discharged state it does not respond to touch.
- Remove the capsule from the bracelet. To do this, pull it towards the screen (direction is indicated by the arrow on the back).
- Connect the charging cable. The contacts on the capsule should fit tightly to the contacts on the cable. If the bracelet does not start charging, try to move the capsule slightly left-right.
- Connect the cable to the power supply. The charging indicator (the white LED on the capsule) should catch fire. If that doesn't happen, check the cable and the socket.
The full charge time is about 1.5-2 hours. The bracelet screen displays battery animation while charging. When the charge reaches 100%, the animation disappears and the indicator goes out. It is not recommended to keep the bracelet on charging for more than 3 hours, this can reduce battery life.
| Condition of the bracelet | Indication | Action. |
|---|---|---|
| Discharged (0-5%) | Red indicator flashes 1 time in 3 seconds | Connect to charging for 2+ hours |
| Charged (5-99%) | White indicator is constantly burning | Wait for full charge. |
| Fully charged (100%) | The indicator goes out, on the screen β a full battery | You can turn it off and on. |
| Charging error | The indicator does not burn or flashes red | Check the contacts and cable |
β οΈ Warning: If the bracelet is not charging after the indicator is on fire, try to clean the contacts on the capsule and cable with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
