How to know exactly the model of the Xiaomi Mi smart bracelet: from Mi Band 1 to 8 Pro

Why it’s important to know the exact model of your Mi Band – and what happens if you make a mistake

Did you buy a used Xiaomi Mi Band, lose the box, or just forget what version of the bracelet you have? Defining the model is not a formality, but a critical step. Fitness/Zepp Life, firmware availability, choice of straps, and even the ability to use some features (e.g, NFC Contactless payment is not supported in all versions).

What's more, some bracelets are almost indistinguishable — for example, the Mi Band 6 and Mi Band 6 NFC have identical designs, but different internal modules. If you make the wrong mistake with the model when buying accessories or trying to flash the device, you risk getting a brick or just throwing away money. In this article, all the working ways to determine the model, including those that are not written in the standard instructions.

Method 1: Looking at a box or in documents is the most reliable method

If you have the original packaging, the task is simplified to a minimum. Xiaomi always points the full model name to:

• 📦 The front of the box is usually in the upper right corner under the logo (e.g. Mi Smart Band 7 Pro).
• 🏷️ Barcode sticker – on the back of the package, where the serial number and article are indicated (for example, M2229B1 For the Mi Band 7).
• 📄 Warranty card - in the column "Model" or "Name of the goods".
