In this article, you will find a step-by-step guide with illustrative examples, a Xiaomi smartphone compatibility table, and a breakdown of common errors (such as codes 10001 or 5000).
If youβve just unpacked the Mi Band 6 or experienced problems after resetting, this guide will help you avoid frequent errors. For example, many users donβt know that you need to disable battery optimization for the Mi Fitness app to work properly, which solves 80% of the disconnect problems.
Important: The instruction is valid for all MIUI versions (including MIUI 14 and HyperOS), as well as for bracelets with firmware 1.0.6.54 and later. If your Mi Band 6 is released before 2021, check the version in the Settings β About bracelet menu - you may need a preliminary update.
1. Which app to choose: Mi Fitness or Zepp Life?
Since 2022, Xiaomi has officially moved all wearable devices to the Zepp Life platform (formerly Amazfit), but the Mi Band 6 supports both apps.
- πΉ Mi Fitness: Classic interface, better integration with Xiaomi ecosystem (e.g. sync with Mi Home), but less sleep analytics.
- πΉ Zepp Life: Extended health statistics (stress, breathing, blood oxygen) but requires registration in a new account.
For most Xiaomi users, we recommend Mi Fitness, as it is pre-installed on the brandβs smartphones and does not require additional permissions. However, if you want detailed sleep or pulse analytics, go to Zepp Life β but be prepared to manually adjust notifications.
