Why Honor Band Connection to Xiaomi Is Questionable
Honor fitness bracelets and Xiaomi smartphones work on different ecosystems: the former are closely integrated with Huawei services, the latter with MIUI. This creates technical nuances when trying to sync them. Many users face connection errors, no notifications or a problem with displaying data in applications. In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to connect the Honor bracelet to a Xiaomi phone, from the official method through Huawei Health to alternative solutions for older models.
Itβs important to understand that compatibility depends on the Android version on your smartphone, the bracelet model (e.g. Honor Band 6 vs Honor Band 5), and regional restrictions. For example, in some countries, the Huawei Health app may not support full functionality due to sanctions. We tested all methods on current MIUI 14/15 firmware and Honor bracelets from 2020-2026.
The official way: connect via Huawei Health
The most reliable and recommended method by the manufacturer is the use of the Huawei Health app, which is available on Google Play and AppGallery, but for Xiaomi users there are nuances with the installation due to the lack of Google services on some models (for example, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ for the Chinese market).
To connect the bracelet:
- Install the app: π± For global versions MIUI: Download Huawei Health from Google Play. π± For Chinese firmware: use AppGallery or APK-file from the official Huawei website.
- Register an account: π Create a Huawei account ID (If it's not there, you'll need a valid email. π Confirm the phone number is a must-see step for data synchronization.
- Activate Bluetooth and GPS: π Enable Bluetooth and Geodata in Xiaomi settings (Settings) β Connections and sharing). π Allow Huawei Health app to access location and contacts (for notifications).
- Add the device: π In the annex, click "DevicesΒ» β Β«Add the deviceΒ» β Choose a model bracelet. π Follow the instructions on the screen. The bracelet must flash blue light (pairing mode).

If you have Xiaomi without Google services (e.g. Redmi K60 Ultra for China), download Huawei Health via APKPure or APKMirror. Make sure the app version is compatible with your bracelet model (check on the official website).
Alternative ways of connecting
If the official application does not work (for example, due to regional restrictions or an outdated bracelet model), you can use third-party solutions.
| Method | Supported models | Pluses | Cons |
|---|---|---|---|
| Notify & Fitness | Honor Band 4/5/6, MagicWatch 2 | Works without Huawei Health, supports notifications | No Step Sync with Google Fit, Paid Version for Extended Features |
| Mi Band Master | Honor Band 5/6 (partially) | Screen Customization, Weather Widgets | Unstable work with new firmware Honor |
| Tools & Mi Band | Honor Band 3/4 | Support for old devices, free of charge | Limited functionality for new bracelets |
To connect via Notify & Fitness:
- Download the app from Google Play.
- Turn on the developer mode on the bracelet: go to Settings β About the phone and tap 5 times on the build number.
- In Notify & Fitness, select Add Device β Honor Band β Follow the instructions.

Important: When using third-party applications, health data (pulse, sleep) may not sync with Google Fit or Apple Health.
Solving common problems
Even with the right connection, Xiaomi users often encounter errors. Letβs look at the typical cases and how to fix them.
1.The bracelet is not in the appendix.
- β οΈ Problem: When you search for a device in Huawei Health, a message appears: βCanβt find the deviceΒ».
- β Decision: π Turn off Bluetooth on your phone, then turn it on again. π Reset the bracelet (press the button for 15 seconds). π Remove the Bluetooth cache on Xiaomi: Settings β Annexes β System applications β Bluetooth β Memory. β Clear the cache.
2 Notifications don't come on the bracelet
- β οΈ Problem: Calls and messages donβt show up on the Honor Band, though the connection is installed.
- β Decision: π³ In Huawei Health, go to Notification Management and turn on the option for the right apps (like WhatsApp, SMS). π³ On Xiaomi, Allow AutoRun for Huawei Health: Settings β Annexes β Huawei Health β Auto-start. π³ Turn off battery optimization for the app: Settings β Battery β Optimizing the battery β All applications β Huawei Health β Not optimize.

3. Rapid discharge of the bracelet after connection
If after synchronization with Xiaomi, the bracelet discharges in 1-2 days (instead of the declared 10-14), check:
- π Sync frequency: In Huawei Health, turn off automatic data sync every 30 minutes (set a 1-2 hour interval).
- π Notifications: Limit the number of apps that send notifications to the bracelet.
- π Screen Brightness: Reduce the brightness in the bracelet settings or turn off the automatic backlight.

If the Honor Band 6 is running out in a day, check the firmware version. Some builds (e.g. 1.0.8.36) have a power-efficient bug. Update the software via Huawei Health or manually (instructions in the next section).
Manual update of the bracelet firmware
If the automatic update through Huawei Health doesnβt work (for example, due to regional restrictions), you can manually flash the bracelet, a method that is suitable for power users and requires caution.
Preparation:
- π₯οΈ Download the latest firmware for your model with Funcl or 4PDA.
- π₯οΈ Install Flashtool for Honor Band on Xiaomi (available on GitHub).
- π₯οΈ Charge the bracelet at least 50%.
Instructions:
- Unpack the archive with the firmware in a folder on your phone.
- Open Flashtool, select a firmware file (.fw or.bin).
- Connect the bracelet to your phone via Bluetooth.
- Click Start Flash and wait until the bracelet is completed (donβt turn off!).
β οΈ Warning: Continuous firmware updates can cause the bracelet to break down if you interrupt the process or use an inappropriate version of the software. Before you run the firmware, check the file's compatibility with your Honor Band model (for example, Honor Band 6 does not support Band 5 firmware).
Following a successful update:
- π Reset the bracelet settings to factory (Settings) β System system β Reset).
- π Connect it to your phone via Huawei Health.
Synchronize data with Google Fit and other services
Huawei Health does not transfer data to Google Fit or Apple Health by default. To synchronize steps, pulse and sleep, use the Health Sync intermediary app:
- Install Health Sync from Google Play.
- In the application settings, select the source (Huawei Health) and the target (Google Fit).
- Set up automatic synchronization (recommended interval - 1 time per hour).
To sync with Mi Fitness (if you are also using Xiaomi bracelets):
- π Export data from Huawei Health to the GPX-file (via "Data Export" in settings).
- π Import the file to Mi Fitness via the section "Import / ExportΒ».
β οΈ Note: When synchronized through third-party apps, you may experience duplicate data (e.g. steps will be counted twice) or errors in sleep schedules. Before using, turn off automatic synchronization in the main apps (Huawei Health and Google Fit).
