Xiaomi's wireless headphones are a convenience and freedom of movement, but their compact size often causes losses. TWS-We've lost one or both of our headphones at least once, and fortunately, we've got a few different ways to search, and we've put them all together in one instruction, from the standard Mi Home features to the non-obvious life hacks.

Important: search performance depends on the headphone model. For example, Xiaomi AirDots Pro 2 and later support accurate location via Bluetooth LE, and budget models like Redmi Buds 3 Lite can only be found by audio signal. We took these nuances into account in the instructions below.
1. Search through the Mi Home app (or Xiaomi Wear)
The most reliable way is to use proprietary software. Mi Home (for older models) or Xiaomi Wear (for new ones) can show the last known location of the headphones and send an audible signal.
- Open the app and go to the Devices section β Headphones.
- Click on your model icon (e.g. Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro).
- Select the option Find the device or the sound signal.
- If the headphones are in the range of Bluetooth (up to 10 meters), they will make a loud squeak.
An important nuance: the feature only works if the headphones were connected to the phone at the time of loss. If they are lying in the case or turned off, the app will show the last connection point on the map (accuracy - up to 50 meters in the city).
2.Use the "Find the earphone" function in Bluetooth settings
Not everyone knows, but Android (starting with version 10) has a built-in Bluetooth device search feature that works even without Xiaomi apps, but with limitations:
- π It works only if the headphones are included in the range (up to 10 m).
- π It only makes sound on one earpiece (the one that is lost).
- π± Requires Android 10+ and original firmware MIUI.

- Open Settings β Connected devices β Bluetooth.
- Find your headphones (such as Mi True Wireless Earphones 2) and tap the gear next to you.
- Select Find the device - the earphone will start beeping.

If the earphone is not making sound, try removing it from the case and pressing the on button 2-3 times, sometimes this "wakes up" the module to search.
3. Search for the latest location (if the headphones are off)
If the headphones are dead or lying in the case, the Xiaomi apps will show the last connection point on the map.

How to check the latest location:
- Open Mi Home or Xiaomi Wear.
- Go to the Devices section β [Your model] β Location.
- The map will show the point where the headphones last connected to the phone.

4. Alternative methods: if the headphones do not respond
What to do if the headphones are turned off, discharged or do not respond to the signal? Here are 3 non-standard methods:
- π¦ Visual search with flashlight. Xiaomi wireless headphones often fall under the sofa, in crevices or behind furniture. Illuminate potential locations with a bright flashlight (on your phone, turn on maximum brightness).
- π§² Every headphone has a speaker with a magnet in it, and if you have a metal detector at home (or a metal detector app on your phone), walk around the room.
- π Use a pet. Cats and dogs often respond to high-frequency squeaks. Turn on the phone sound generator 18-20 kHz (there are free apps) - the animal can point to the source.
Emergency method for models with ANC: if the earphone is on but not making sound, try to turn on active noise cancellation through the app, sometimes it causes the speaker to wake up and make noise that you can navigate.

5 What to do if only one headphone is found
Situation: You found one earpiece and the other one was lost.
- Check the connection: put the earpiece in the case, if the light flashes red, the second earpiece is dead or lost, if it's white, it's nearby, but it doesn't connect.
- Reset settings: Press and hold the button on the case (or touchpad on the headphone) for 15 seconds until the indicator flashes red and white.
- Try reconnecting: take both earbuds out of the case, they need to sync automatically. If not, the second earbud is lost.
If the second headphone is lost irretrievably:
- π Buy one headphone on AliExpress or at Xiaomi Service Center (specify the exact model!).
- π Some models (for example, Buds 3 Pro) support mono mode β you can use one headphone as a standalone device.

Xiaomi Hidden Feature: Xiaomi Wear has a Loss of Communication Alert option, turn it on in the headphone settings, and the phone will vibrate if you move away from the headphones further than 10 meters.
