The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 fitness bracelet remains one of the most popular trackers even years after its release, thanks to a combination of affordable price, reliability and wide functionality. However, many users face the problem: after purchase, the device displays menus in Chinese or English, and the official Mi Fit application has no obvious way to change the interface language. This article will help not only translate the Mi Band 3 into Russian, but also to properly configure all functions from notifications to sleep monitoring.
It's important to understand that Mi Band 3 doesn't support language change directly through the bracelet menu -- it'll require either a Russification firmware or a region-specific configuration in the app. We'll look at both, and we'll look at the nuances of synchronization with Android and iOS, pedometer settings, and solving common bugs. If you've just unpacked the bracelet or are trying to get your Russian back after a reset, this guide will become your cheat sheet.
Preparation for the setup: what will be needed
Before you start russifying and configuring Mi Band 3, make sure you have everything you need:
- ๐ฑ Android smartphone 5.0+ iOS 9.0+ Google-accessible Play/App Store.
- ๐ Charged bracelet (minimum 20% charge, better than 50%+).
- ๐ Stable Internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile Internet).
- ๐ฒ Installed Mi Fit application (version no lower than 4.6.0).
If you bought the bracelet from Chinese sites (like AliExpress), chances are it's Chinese firmware with limited functionality for other regions, and if you did, simply changing the region to Mi Fit won't be enough -- you'd need to flash it, and we'll talk about that in a separate section.
Also note the bracelet version: the box or settings (Device Profile โ Software Version) should include the XMSH07HM (Global Version) or XMSH08HM (Chinese), which often requires additional manipulation.
Installation and configuration of the Mi Fit application
The Mi Fit app is the central control node for the bracelet, and without it, you won't be able to not only Russify the Mi Band 3, but you won't be able to use most of the features.
- Download Mi Fit from the official store: ๐ค Google Play for Android ๐ App Store for iOS

At the device addition stage, the app can request access to notifications, contacts, and physical activity โ allow all requests, otherwise some of the features (such as call alerts) will not work.

Changing the language to Russian through Mi Fit
If your Mi Band 3 has global firmware (XMSH07HM), you can change the language without flashing:
- Open Mi Fit and go to Profile โ Mi Smart Band 3.
- Slip on the three dots in the upper right corner and select Settings of the device.
- Find Display Language and select Russian.
- Confirm the change and wait for synchronization (bracelet vibrates).
- ๐ If the change of the region did not help - you will need a Russified firmware.
๐ก
After changing the language, check if the bracelet firmware has updated. Sometimes Mi Fit automatically installs the latest version of the software when you first connect to a new region.
Russification through firmware (for Chinese versions)
If standard methods don't work, you'll have to re-fish the bracelet, which is a very careful process, but if done correctly, it's safe.
- ๐ฅ๏ธ Windows computer 7/10/11.
- ๐ Firing cable Mi Band 3 (also used for firmware).
- ๐ Archive with Russified firmware (you can download here).
- ๐ ๏ธ Utility. MiBand3Tools or Gadgetbridge.
Important nuances:
- ๐ต On iPhone notifications can come with a delay (the fault of the restrictions of iOS).
- ๐ To turn off vibration at night, set up Do Not Disturb Mode in Mi Fit.
- ๐ฑ For Android: In your phone settings, give Mi Fit permission to show over other windows.
