Built-in advertising in MIUI firmware has long been a headache for owners of Xiaomi smartphones, TVs and smart devices. Even in new models in 2026 - from the budget Redmi Note 13 to the flagship Xiaomi 14 Ultra - banner ads continue to appear in the settings menu, on the lock screen and in system applications. In this article, we will look at all the current ways to disable ads on different types of Xiaomi devices, from smartphones to Mi TV and Mi Band. Importantly, the methods differ depending on the version of MIUI (12/13/14), regional firmware (global / Chinese) and the availability of superuser rights. We will indicate which settings work on firmware in 2026 and which are gone in the past with MIUI 11.

1.Why is Xiaomi showing ads and is it legal?
Since 2018, Xiaomi has been actively integrating advertising modules into its MIUI shell.

2. Method 1: Disabling advertising through MIUI settings (without root)
This is the safest method, which works on 90% of MIUI 12-14 devices, suitable for smartphones and tablets, and important: some models (such as the POCO F5 with firmware for India) may not have a number of points.
Instructions:
- Open Settings → Accounts and Sync → Mi Account.
- Slip on your account, then select your account settings.
- Scroll down and find Ad Personalization (or Ad Services in English).

Method 2: Manual disabling of advertising in system applications
Some Xiaomi apps have their own ad modules that are not blocked through general settings, and below is a list of the most “advertising” apps and how to clean them.

If the ad still appears after this manipulation, it is built into the system level, in which case either resetting to factory settings (with the risk of returning the ad after the update) or switching to custom firmware will help.
Method 3: Use of ADB-Teams (for experienced users)
The Android Debug Bridge (ADB) method allows you to disable system-level advertising without obtaining root permissions. It works on MIUI 12-14, but requires you to connect the device to a computer.
Step-by-step:
- Download and install ADB Tools on PC.
- On your smartphone, activate debugging over USB in the developer settings.
- Connect the device to the computer and confirm the debugging permission.
- Open the command line (Windows) or terminal (macOS/Linux) in the adb folder.
