Why Xiaomi TV doesnβt change language and how to fix it
Xiaomi Mi TV, Mi TV A Pro or Mi TV P1 come with firmware in Chinese or English β even if you buy the device in official stores in Russia. This creates problems: menus in incomprehensible language, voice assistant does not recognize commands, and prompts in applications are displayed in hieroglyphs. But there is a solution!
In this article, you will find 3 working ways to change the system language, including hidden settings for models with locked menus. We will also discuss what to do if the language is reset after updating the firmware, or if there is no Russian in the list of available languages. All instructions are relevant for Mi TV 4A/4S/4X, Mi TV 5/5X, Mi TV A2/A Pro and other series from 2018-2026.
β οΈ Important: On some models (e.g. Mi) TV 4A 32" for the Chinese market) Russian may not exist in principle, even after the reset, in which case you will need firmware with multilingual support, as we will discuss in the last section.
Method 1: Standard language change via the settings menu
If your Xiaomi TV already has Russian on the list of languages, but it is inactive, follow this instruction.Suitable for most models, including the Mi TV P1 and Mi TV Q1.
Steps:

Method 2: Change language through ADB (for power users)
If the standard method did not work, and the firmware has Russian, but it is hidden, you can force activate it via Android Debug Bridge (ADB), this method is suitable for TVs on Android TVs (for example, Mi TV 5 Pro or Mi TV A2).
You'll need:
- π₯οΈ Computer with Windows/Linux/macOS.
- π USB-cable (preferably original).
- π± Included debugging by USB TV-wise.
Instructions:
- Activate Developer Mode: Go to Settings β About TV. Find the Build Number string and click on it 7 times in a row. Go back to Settings β Additional β For Developers and turn on USB Debugging.

What if ADB canβt see TV?

Method 3: Reset the TV to factory settings
If previous methods didnβt work and thereβs no Russian in the system, maybe the TV firmware is for another region, in which case a full reset and then a choice of language at the first setup will help.
How to reset Xiaomi Mi TV:
- Open Settings β Device β Reset and Reset β Reset settings.
- Enter. PIN-code (default 0000 or 1234).
- Confirm the action and wait for the reboot (it will take 2-5 minutes).
- When you first turn on, select βRussianβ in the welcome menu.
- Change region: In Settings β System β Date and time, select Moscow time zone (GMT+3). Reboot the TV - sometimes this will unlock the Russian language.
