Xiao AIβs voice assistant, notification voiceover, or sudden speech synthesis (TTS) on your Xiaomi can be annoying β especially when the smartphone starts βtalkingβ without a command. Depending on the model (Redmi Note 12, POCO X5, Mi 11) and the firmware version (MIUI 12-15), the ways to turn off voice are different. In some cases, it is enough to deactivate one parameter, in others you have to βdigβ in hidden settings or even reset applications.
This article covers all possible scenarios: from standard Xiao voice shutdown AI prior to removal of the system TTS-We'll also explore why speech synthesis can be activated by itself after updates. - Turn off the slider and uncheck the boxes from the applications for which the voiceover was turned on.
If there is no section:

4 Problems after MIUI Update
After upgrading to MIUI 14/15, many users complain about spontaneous speech synthesis, which is because the new firmware version resets some of the special features settings.

5. Disable speech synthesis for specific applications
Some programs (e.g. Google Maps, Yandex Navigator, Waze) have their own speech synthesis, which works independently of system settings.
- πΊοΈ Google Maps: Open the app β Profile β Settings β Navigation. Select Voice and install No Sound.
- π Yandex Navigator: Go to Settings β Sound and voice. Turn off voice prompts or select Quiet Mode.
