In the MIUI ecosystem and the new HyperOS, file removal is done through built-in galleries and explorers. The Recycle Bin provides a buffer zone to protect you from accidentally losing photos, videos or documents. If you accidentally swipe an important image, don't panic, it's probably not gone anywhere, but has moved to a special section that's accessible through the app menu. Search for deleted photos in the System Gallery
The most popular place where users search for recently deleted media is the standard Gallery app. This is where all your pictures and screenshots are stored. In the MIUI and HyperOS shells, this section is hidden in the back of the menu so as not to clutter the main interface, but access to it is always open. To access this data, open the Google Photos app and go to the Library tab in the lower right corner, where you'll see the Device or Photos on Device block, and just below, the Recycle Bin section, where files are stored for 60 days if you have a Google One subscription, or 30 days for regular accs, which is significantly longer than standard apps.

If the cart doesn't get free visually, try restarting the device. Sometimes the Media Scanner doesn't have time to update the free space information. Restarting the system will force Android to re-scan the file system and display current data.
Data recovery and frequent problems
The issue of recovering data after cleaning the cart is one of the most pressing. It is impossible to do this with standard Android tools. If files were deleted from the Gallery or Explorer Recycle Bin, you will need specialized PC programs such as Dr.Fone or DiskDigger to return them, and you will need to have Root rights on the device.
