How to enable screen recording on Xiaomi

The fastest method is to use a button in the notification curtain, but if it's not there, you'll have to add it manually or use alternative methods. On some models (for example, Xiaomi 13 Ultra), screen recording is integrated into Game Turbo game mode, which gives additional options, such as recording from a webcam or microphone at the same time.

Recording the screen through the notification panel (the fastest way)
This is a standard method that works on most Xiaomi devices with MIUI 12 and later. If there is a write button in the notification curtain, you will need only 2-3 taps to start recording.
- Swipe your finger down from the top of the screen to open the notification bar.
- Find the Screen Record button (an icon with a dot and a circle inside). If it's not there, click on the Edit icon (pencil) and add it manually.
- Press the recording button. A window will appear with settings - select a resolution (e.g. 1080p or 720p) and a sound source (microphone, system sound or both).

- 📱 Screen blinks or record lags - lower the resolution to 720p or close the background applications on weak devices (Redmi) 8A, POCO C31) recommended to use 30 FPS.
- 📁 No video is saved - check the available space on the device (need a minimum of 500 MB). If there is space, restart the phone and try again.
If none of the solutions worked, try resetting the Screen Recording app settings:
- Go to Settings → Applications → Application Management.

- Select “Storage” → “Clear Data” and “Clear Cache”.
