Why the Poco X3 doesn’t flash when you call – and how to fix it

Are you missing important calls because your smartphone is down screen or in a noisy room? Important: If your Poco X3 runs on custom firmware (like Pixel Experience or LineageOS), some methods may not work, in which case you can jump straight to alternative methods.

Method 1: Enable through standard MIUI settings

The most reliable method is to use the built-in MIUI options, but it only works on official firmware. If you updated your smartphone via About Phone → System Update, keep an eye out for the version: in MIUI 12.5 and later, the path to flash settings has changed.

Instructions for MIUI 13/14:

1. Open the Settings. → Special facilities.
2. Scroll down to the Hearing section and select Flash at notifications.
3. Activate the camera flash switch.
4. In the Apps section, add Phone (and if necessary Messages or WhatsApp).

For MIUI 12.0-12.5, the path is different.

3. Install a third-party flash management app.

Method 3: Using Tasker for Advanced Customization

If you need to configure unique flash scenarios (for example, only for certain contacts or at night), use Tasker. This automation app allows you to create rules for triggering a flash with time, contacts, or even geolocation in mind.

Step-by-step:

1. Install Tasker and AutoFlashlight plugin.
2. In Tasker, create a new task (+ → New task).
3. Add the action plugin → AutoFlashlight → Flash.
4. Set up the trigger conditions: Profile → Condition → Phone → Incoming Configuration: Number (leave blank for everyone) or specify a specific contact
5. Save the task and activate it.

An example of an advanced rule:

• 🕒 Flash only from 20:00 to 8:00 (night mode).
• 📞 Ignore calls from unknown numbers.
• 🔄 Blink 3 times at 1 second interval.
