You are trying to connect to Xiaomi. TV prefix, DVD-player or game console through AV-input (composite tulip or component), but the TV doesn't recognize the signal? The problem is often not the cable, but the settings of the device itself. TV Defaults hide analog inputs to simplify the interface – but they’re easy to manually return.

The instructions are suitable for all popular series: Mi TV 4A/4S/4X, Mi TV 5/5 Pro/5X, Mi TV A Pro, Mi TV P1, Mi TV Q1/Q2 and others. If your model is released after 2020, it most likely has a hidden digital-to-analog converter - it takes less than a minute to activate.
Why? AV-Entry does not work on Xiaomi TV (even if there is a connector)
Before digging into the settings, check out 4 key reasons why the TV might be ignoring AV-signal:
- There is no physical connector. Starting with the Mi TV 5 Pro (2021) and younger, Xiaomi removes the classic tulips (RCA) from the rear, instead using a combined 3.5 mm connector (for composite input) or HDMI-ARC with support for analog signal.
- The input is turned off in the firmware. By default, MIUI TV hides analogue sources if devices haven't connected to them for a long time, and this is done to keep the interface clean.
- The wrong cable or adapter. For example, to connect to a 3.5 mm connector, you need a special RCA → Jack adapter, not a regular audio cable.
- Incompatible signal. Old consoles (e.g. Dendy or Dendy) SEGA) issue PAL-signal and the TV is set to default NTSC (vice versa).
If you connect your device via an HDMI-AV adapter (for example, for a Nintendo 64 or PS2), make sure that the adapter supports active signal conversion. Passive adapters (without power) from RCA to HDMI will not work!

Method 1: Enable AV through the standard menu (for most models)
This method works for Mi. TV 4/4A/4S/5/5 Pro and other TVs with physical AV-plug-in (RCA or 3.5 Follow the steps:

Method 2: Configure AV via service menu (for Mi TV Q1/Q2 and new models)

Method 3: Connect via HDMI-AV adapter (if there is no physical connector)

Solution: Why AV doesn’t work even after setting up
If you have completed all the steps, but the TV still can’t see AV-Check out these 7 hidden causes:
