Owners of Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones often face a situation where the usual icon of the program suddenly disappears from the screen, which causes panic, especially if the application is used daily for work or communication.
MIUI and the new HyperOS have flexible display settings that allow you to hide items or change their location, and understanding these mechanisms will quickly restore order on the desktop without losing data.
Before you start to do complex things, it's worth checking the basic settings. Often users accidentally drag and drop icons into folders or hide them through the hidden app menu. In the Android system that Xiaomi devices run on, removing the shortcut from the desktop doesn't mean removing the program itself. The app stays in the phone's memory until you explicitly delete it through the settings. So the first step is to find the installed software in the shared list.
You just go to the menu of all the apps and use the search bar, type in the name of the missing program, if it is found, then the problem lies solely in the visual display, you can just drag the icon from the app menu back to the desktop, sometimes it helps to simply reboot the device that updates the launcher's cache.
There is also a possibility that Do Not Disturb or Sleep Mode is enabled, which visually hides certain interface elements to minimize distractions. Check active profiles in the notification curtain. If you use a third-party launcher, the problem may be its settings or cache.

Check the list of hidden applications in MIUI and HyperOS

To check if your app is on this list, you need to open the standard Security app (green zipper icon) and find the Hide Apps section inside it, and some versions of the firmware can access it via swipe up at the bottom of the screen inside the Security menu or through the launcher settings.
