How to increase the font on Xiaomi Redmi: from system settings to hidden features

1. Standard change of font size in MIUI settings

Place the font file in the root folder of internal memory (for example, /storage/emulated/0/Download/).

1. Open your browser and click on three dots (⋮) top-right.
2. Select Settings → Special features → Page size.
3. Set the value from 50% to 300%.

There are no separate font settings for Instagram and TikTok, these apps use system settings. If the text is too small, try zooming the screen.

5. Use of the regimen for the visually impaired (TalkBack and increase)

If standard methods don't work, MIUI has specialized features for visually impaired users, which include not only font enlargement, but also voice, contrasting themes and zoom gestures.

How to turn on:

1. Go to Settings. → Special facilities.
2. Choose the Loop (or Loop on some firmware).
3. Activate the Short zoom switch – you can now tap the screen three times to enlarge any of its sections.

Problem 3: Font reset after MIUI update

After major updates (e.g., from MIUI 13 to MIUI 14), the font settings may reset.

2. Enter the command to check the connection: adb devices (should display the serial number of your Redmi).
3. Set the desired font size (for example, 130% Adb shell settings put system font_scale 1.3
4. Reboot the phone.

Permissible values for font_scale:

• 📏 1.0 - Standard size.
• 📏 1.3 - large font (analogue "Very large" in the MIUI).
