The lock screen on Xiaomi smartphones is the first thing you see when you turn on the device. Many users install beautiful themes from MIUI Themes, but over time they can get bored or start to conflict with the system. Especially annoying when the theme changes fonts, icons or lock animations without the possibility of a quick rollback.
In this article, we will discuss all possible ways to remove the theme from the lock screen β from standard settings to hidden MIUI functions. The instructions are relevant for the Redmi Note 12/13, Poco X5/F5, Xiaomi 13/14 and other devices on MIUI 12-15. If your smartphone runs on HyperOS, some points may differ β we will mention this too.
Important: Some methods require superuser rights (root) or debugging by ADB. If you are not sure about your actions, use only the official methods from the first two sections.
1. Remove theme through standard MIUI settings
The easiest and safest way is to reset the theme to standard through the settings menu, which works on all Xiaomi smartphones without root and requires no additional programs.
Open the Themes app (Brush icon) and follow the following steps:
- π± Go to the tab "Mine" (bottom of the screen).
- π Find an active topic in the Current Theme section and tap it by its name.
- ποΈ In the window that opens, select Remove (or Reset to Standard if the option is available).
- β Confirm the action β the system will automatically apply the standard theme MIUI.
If there is no Delete button, then the theme is system (for example, Classic or Dark).

After resetting the theme, check the Lock Screen β Lock Style section of the settings. Sometimes there are elements of the old theme that can be manually disabled.
2.Reset the lock screen style manually
In MIUI, lock screen style and the theme are two different options. Even after the theme is removed, some elements (watches, wallpaper, animations) can remain, to fully return the standard look:
- Open the Settings β Lock screen.
- Select the "Blocking Style" option.
- Scroll down and tap Reset to factory settings.
- Confirm the action β the system will apply the standard MIUI style.
If this item is missing, your version of MIUI does not support a separate reset, in which case only a full reset of topics will help (see section 4).
3. Delete theme through ADB (no root)
If the standard methods do not work, you can use debugging on the ADB. This method does not require the rights of a superuser, but requires a computer and a computer. USB-cable.
First, turn on the developer mode and USB debugging:
- Go to Settings. β The phone.
- Tap 7 times on the MIUI version until the notification βYou became a developer!β appears.
- Back to Settings β Additionally. β For developers.
- Activate Debugging on USB.
Now connect your smartphone to your PC and execute the commands:
adb shell
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.themes
pm clear com.miui.homeOnce the device is restarted, the theme will be reset, which only removes user themes without affecting system files.
What if the ADB does not recognize the device?
4. Complete reset of all topics to factory
If previous methods didnβt work, you can do a complete theme reset, which will remove all downloaded themes, including wallpaper, fonts and lock styles.
Instructions:
- π± Open the Topics app.
- π€ Go to profile (icon in the upper right corner).
- βοΈ Tap the settings (cogs).
- π Select Reset Theme Settings.
- β Confirm the action.
After reset, the system will use the standard MIUI theme. Note: this method does not delete the theme files from the device's memory, but only resets their application. To make room, clear the theme app cache in the settings.
