The weather widget on Xiaomi smartphones is one of the most controversial elements of the MIUI and HyperOS interface. For some users, it is convenient, for others it takes up precious space on the home screen or notification panel, slows down the system and eats up the battery. Worse, standard removal methods (dragging to the cart) often do not work: the widget returns after a reboot or firmware update.

Why is the weather widget not removed in the standard way?
The problem lies in the architecture of the MIUI/HyperOS shell. The weather widget is not just a standalone application, but part of the system service com.miui.weather2 (or com.miui.hyperos.weather in new versions).

Method 1: Hiding the widget through theme settings
The safest method is to disable the display without deleting system files, suitable for users who want to get rid of visual debris, but are not ready for radical measures.
Instructions:
- Click and hold the empty space on the home screen → select Screen Settings (or Widgets).

- Drag it into the basket that appears (or click "Delete").
- Go to Settings → Lock screen → Widgets and turn off the Weather there.
For the notification panel:

- In the search, enter the Weather (or Weather in English firmware).
- Select com.miui.weather2 (or com.miui.hyperos.weather).
- Click Disconnect → Confirm the action.
After the shutdown:

Method 3: Remove via ADB (for advanced users)
If the shutdown doesn't work, you'll have to use Android Debug Bridge (ADB), a deep-tuning tool that removes the weather app completely, but requires you to connect to your PC and turn on the developer mode.
What you need:

- 📱 Xiaomi smartphone with enabled debugging USB;
- 🔌 USB-cable (preferably original).

If you have root rights (via Magisk or TWRP), you can remove the weather widget at the system file level, a method that is suitable for Xiaomi with custom firmware or unlocked bootloader.

- Install a file manager with root support (such as Root Explorer or Mixplorer).
- Go to /system/priv-app/Weather2/ or HyperOS: /system/priv-app/HyperWeather/
