Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 owners often face intrusive ads in system applications, browser and even on the lock screen. The manufacturer integrates ad modules into MIUI firmware for monetization, but this greatly spoils the user experience. The good news is that most banner ads can be turned off without root rights and complex manipulation.

⚠️ Warning: Disabling system packages may disrupt some features, such as Mi Cloud, Backups or Air Updates. If you have problems after manipulation, restore the packages with the command:

If none of these methods worked, the radical solution is to reflash the Redmi Note 9 on custom firmware without advertising.

Important: Firmware reflashing voids the warranty and can lead to data loss, and use this method only if you are confident in your actions.

5. Blocking Advertising via DNS or VPN

Applications like AdGuard VPN or Blokada filter traffic at the system level.

- 🔄 Select “Erase All Data” (not to be confused with “Settings Reset” which does not delete files!).
- 🔐 Enter the password from the Mi Account (if linked) and confirm the action.
- ⏳ Wait for the process to be completed (it will take 5-10 minutes).
🔹 What to do after a reset:
