Advertising on Xiaomi TVs is one of the most annoying features of their MIUI TV firmware. Even after buying a premium model, users are faced with banners on the menu, commercials in the launch of applications and intrusive notifications about “recommended content.”

Why Xiaomi TV is getting ads and can it be removed forever?
Xiaomi TVs use two main shells:

- 🤖 Android TV (Europe, some models for China) – less aggressive, but still contains ads in launcher and system notifications.

- 📹 Videos before launching applications (YouTube, Netflix).
- 🏷️ Banners on the main screen (advertising games, promotions from partners).

On models from 2023 to 2026 (e.g., Xiaomi TV A Pro or Redmi Smart TV X2026), ads are built-in at the firmware level and do not turn off in standard ways. However, even in such cases, there are workarounds – from blocking through the DNS to installing an alternative launcher.
Method 1: Disabling Advertising through Standard Settings (without PC)
This method is suitable for most Android TV models (e.g. Mi TV 4S 55" or Redmi Smart TV X50).It does not require a computer connection, but only removes some of the ads.
Instructions:
- Open Settings → Accounts and Security → Google.
- Select your account and turn off the “Personalized Ads” option.
- Return to the main settings menu and go to Settings → Applications → System applications.
- Find the applications "MIUI System Ads", "PatchWall" or "Recommendation" (names may vary).
- For each of them, click "Stop" and "Stop" (if available).

Advantages of the method: does not require superuser rights, works on all models, does not affect the warranty. Disadvantages: does not block embedded videos in applications (for example, YouTube or Prime Video).

If some applications (such as Disney+ or OKKO) stop working after changing the DNS, return the standard DNS (8.8.8.8) and try another server from the list.
Method 3: Disabling Advertising through ADB (Advanced Method)
If standard settings don’t work, you can use Android Debug Bridge (ADB), a tool for debugging Android devices, which is suitable for Android TV models (such as Mi TV 4A or Redmi Smart TV X65) and requires a connection to a PC.

Instructions:

Method 6: Physically block updates (for power users)
