Floating wallpaper on Xiaomi smartphones (including Redmi and POCO models) is a dynamic paralax effect, where the background image is slightly shifted when the device is tilted or scrolled. For some users, it is a nice feature of the MIUI interface, for others – annoying visual noise that distracts from work. Unfortunately, in recent versions of the firmware (starting with MIUI 12), the option to turn it off is hidden deep in the settings or completely absent from the menu. In this article, we will analyze all the current ways to remove floating wallpapers – from standard tools for experienced users.
It is important to understand that floating wallpaper is not a separate feature, but part of the MIUI animation system. Therefore, some methods will require turning off additional visual effects, which can affect the appearance of the interface. All the instructions below are tested on devices with MIUI 13-14 (including global and Chinese versions) and are relevant for models from 2020-2026. If your smartphone is running on an older firmware (for example, MIUI 11 or lower), some methods may not work – in this case, refer to the FAQ block at the end of the article.
1. Standard Disconnection through theme settings
The most obvious way is to try to deactivate the effect through the personalization menu. In some versions of MIUI (for example, MIUI 12.5 for the Redmi Note 10 Pro), the option is available directly, but in recent updates it has been removed.
- Open the Themes app (icon with brush).
- Go to My Wallpaper → select the current wallpaper.
- If there is a switch at the bottom of the screen The paralax effect or Dynamic wallpaper - turn it off.
On most devices from 2023 to 2026 (e.g., Xiaomi 13T or POCO F5), this item will be inactive or non-existent.

If there is no option to turn off the themes menu, try changing the wallpaper to static ones (for example, from the Basic section). Sometimes the system automatically deactivates the paralax effect for simple backgrounds.
2. Disable animations in the developer settings
Floating wallpaper is closely related to MIUI system animations. They can be disabled via developer mode, but this will affect all transitions in the interface (for example, opening / closing applications will occur without smoothness).
- Activate Developer Mode: Go to Settings → About Phone. Click 7 times on MIUI Version (you will be notified "You are a developer").
