Xiaomi and Redmi smartphone owners often face a lock screen that turns into a feed full of news, weather and recommendations. For the Xiaomi Redmi 10, which runs on the MIUI shell, this is standard system behavior designed to hold the user’s attention, but often annoying.
Many users are unaware that aggressive monetization is built into the default firmware, and news widgets are activated immediately after the device is first turned on. To return a clean lock screen, you need to change several hidden or non-obvious settings in the system menu.

Disconnecting Glance and News Feed
