How to remove buttons on Xiaomi Redmi 10: a complete guide with pictures and videos

Xiaomi Redmi 10 is one of the most popular budget smartphones with a MIUI shell, but its interface is not always satisfactory for users, especially annoying unnecessary buttons: virtual navigation keys, lock button on the lock screen or unnecessary elements in the notification panel. In this article, we will discuss all possible ways to remove them, from standard settings to hidden MIUI functions.

It is important to understand that “remove buttons” can be different: completely disable (if provided by the system), hide with gestures or replace with alternative elements. What buttons can be removed on Redmi 10

Before you start settings, identify which buttons are annoying you. On Xiaomi Redmi 10, they can be divided into 4 categories:

The standard way to hide the Back, Home and Recent keys is to switch to gesture control, an official MIUI feature that works without root rights and does not violate warranty.

Instructions:

1. Open the Settings → Display.
2. Select Full Screen Mode (or Gesture Management in MIUI 14).
3. Slip on Gesture Management and select one of the options: 👆 Gestures MIUI — swipe up for return to home screen, delayed swipe for multitasking. 📱 Android gestures – swipe from the bottom edge for navigation (like on Pixel or Samsung).

Confirm your choice and restart your phone (not necessarily, but recommended for stable operation).

Once the gestures are activated, the virtual buttons will disappear, and a thin bar will appear at the bottom (which can also be hidden in the developer settings), and if the gestures are unstable, check if they conflict with applications like Nova Launcher or Gesture Control.

Challenges and solutions:
