You turned on a Xiaomi TV or unlocked your smartphone, and suddenly there was a little person on the screen: either a user avatar, an animated assistant, or a strange icon in the system tray. 1. How to remove a user avatar on a Xiaomi TV

On Xiaomi Mi TVs (especially Mi TV 4S/5/5X/Q1/Q2), when you first turn on, the system suggests creating a profile with an avatar. If you choose a picture person, it will appear in the upper right corner of the screen next to the profile name.

• 📺 Through Profile Settings: Go to Settings → Accounts and security → Profile management, select your profile and click "Change avatar" where you can either replace the image with a neutral icon or delete it completely ("Without an avatar" option").
• 🔄 Profile reset: If the avatar is not removed, create a new profile without the avatar and make it the main one.
• 🛠️ Disable Display: In some firmware, the avatar is hidden in Settings → Personal settings → Screen and sound → Display the profile name (turn off the slider).

On Google TVs (such as Xiaomi TV A Pro), the avatar is tied to a Google account. To remove it, go to your Google account settings on your TV and delete your profile photo. Update: In Mi TV OS 3.0+ firmware, profile avatars are less likely to appear, but they are only removed completely in beta.

2. Disable the assistant XiaoAI on Xiaomi smartphones

On Xiaomi smartphones (especially in China and global firmware), the little guy on the screen often turns out to be the voice assistant XiaoAI.

For Xiaomi smartphones, the procedure is more complicated:

3. Download the modified bootanimation.zip (for example, with an empty file) and run it through the Recovery.

On Xiaomi TVs with an Amlogic processor (models up to 2021), replacing the screensaver can lead to a boot loop.

4. Clean the cache and reset the settings

If the little guy showed up after updating the firmware or installing the apps, the problem may be the damaged cache.

For TVs:

1. Go to Settings → Applications → All applications.
2. Find Mi TV Home (or Launcher) and clear the cache.

For Xiaomi TVs with PatchWall (Indian firmware), the man can only be removed by rolling back on Mi TV OS 2.0 or lower. On smartphones with HyperOS (new models of 2026), the XiaoAI assistant is removed via:
