How to Make Full Screen Incoming Calls on Xiaomi: 5 Ways to Work

1. Standard MIUI settings: Enable full screen mode

To start with, the basics are built-in options, and in the latest versions of MIUI 14/15, developers have added the ability to choose the style of incoming calls, but they've hidden it deep in the menu.

1. Open the phone application (pipe icon).
2. Slip on the three-point menu in the upper right corner → select Settings.
3. Go to Incoming Calls (or Call Notifications on some models).
4. Find the option of incoming call screen style and select Full screen.

If you don't have one, don't despair. Some firmware (such as Xiaomi 13T) have a different name for this option:

⚠️ Attention: On devices with MIUI for POCO (for example, POCO F5) This section may not be available at all, so move on to the next method.

Few people know, but MIUI has a hidden feature that forcedly extends call notifications, which is originally designed for people with visual impairments, but it's also great for our task. Here's how to activate it:

1. Open the Settings. → Special facilities.
2. Select Rumor → Call Notifications.
3. Activate the Full Screen Show (or Enlarged Notifications) switch.
4. In some versions of MIUI, you can also turn on the Blinking Screen here, which will make the notification even more noticeable.

This method works on most devices, including the Redmi 10/11, Xiaomi 12 Lite and even older models like the Mi A3. The main advantage is that root or third-party applications are not required.

💡 Useful tip: If after activating this option, calls start to appear too aggressive (for example, flickering), go back to the same settings and turn off the Blinking screen, leaving only full-screen mode.

3. Use of third-party applications

If the built-in methods didn't work, third-party apps from Google Play will come to the rescue, and we tested 5 popular solutions and selected the two most reliable ones:

For installation:

1. Download Full Screen Caller from Google Play.
2. Launch the app and provide all the permissions you request (especially Display over other windows and Manage calls).
3. In the application settings, select Call Style → Full-screen.
4. Customize the background, fonts and animation to your liking.

⚠️ Note: Some apps (such as Truecaller) may conflict with Xiaomi’s standard Phone app. If call notifications stop coming after installation, go back to the default settings of the App and select Truecaller as the primary call app.

4. Editing system files (for advanced)

If you’re willing to take drastic measures and have experience with ADB or root access, you can manually change the system settings that are responsible for displaying calls, a method that is suitable for Xiaomi based on Android 11-14.

🔧 Instructions through ADB (rootless):

1. Connect your phone to your PC and activate USB Debugging in the developer settings.
2. Open the command line on your computer and type: adb shell settings put global incoming_call_notification_fullscreen 1
3. Reset the device.

🛠️ Instructions with root access:

1. Install any file manager with root support (such as Root Explorer).
2. Go to /system/csc/others.xml.
3. Find a line. <CscFeature_Phone_DisplayIncomingCallFullScreen>False</CscFeature_Phone_DisplayIncomingCallFullScreen> And replace False with True.
4. Save the file and restart the phone.

Important: Once you update MIUI, all changes to your system files will be reset, so you'll have to repeat the procedure again.

5. Update MIUI to the latest version

In some cases, the problem with compact call notifications is solved by a banal firmware update. Xiaomi regularly makes changes to the call interface, and new versions of MIUI 15 may appear full-screen mode by default.
