Why is Xiaomi using the Chinese calendar if the language of the interface is Russian?
The fact is that the interface language and regional calendar settings in MIUI are controlled by different parameters, and even if you chose Russian when you first switch on, system services (including calendar, weather and clock) can pull data from Chinese servers, which is typical for:

The key parameter that affects the calendar display is Country/Region in the system settings, which can be changed manually, but sometimes additional actions are required (for these, in the following sections).

Method 1: Change the region in the MIUI settings (the easiest one)

To set an alternative calendar:
- Download the selected application from Google Play.
- Open it and allow access to the calendar (if requested).
- In the app settings, turn off the display of Chinese holidays (if there is such a item).
- Set up a widget on your desktop: Long tap on the free space of the screen β Widgets. Find the widget of the installed calendar (for example, Google Calendar 4Γ2). Drag it to the desktop.
Important: If you are using a widget on Xiaomiβs system calendar, you must first remove it from your desktop and then add a widget to the new app, otherwise both calendars will be displayed at the same time.

To hide the Xiaomi system calendar, go to Settings β Apps β Calendar β Disable. This wonβt remove it completely, but it will hide it from menus and widgets.
Method 4: Flashing to Global MIUI (for advanced)
If none of these methods work, the radical solution is to change the firmware from Chinese (CN ROM) to Global ROM, which is guaranteed to solve the calendar problem, but it requires caution:

Step-by-step:
- Download the official global firmware for your model from en.miui.com (select the Global Stable version).
- Unclose the firmware file in a folder on your computer.
- Download and install the Mi Flash Tool (official firmware utility).
- Connect your phone to your PC in Fastboot mode (clip Volume Down + Power when the device is off).
- In the Mi Flash Tool, specify the path to the firmware folder and press Flash.
- Wait for the process to complete (5-10 minutes) and restart the phone.
