MIUI 14 has brought Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco users a lot of new features for customizing the interface, but the feature of round icons is still hidden or unavailable out of the box. If you want to give your smartphone a unique look with soft rounded corners of the icons – this is the guide for you.
Unlike previous versions, where round icons could be enabled through standard themes, MIUI 14’s algorithm changed, requiring either a depth of immersion in the system settings or third-party tool installation, and we tested all current methods on Xiaomi 13 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and Poco F5 devices — and we’re ready to share working solutions.
Important: Not all methods are equally secure: some require unlocking the bootloader, others work without root permissions, but may conflict with system updates. To avoid errors, follow the instructions for your model carefully.
1. Standard way: MIUI themes with round icons
The easiest and safest method is to use built-in themes. In MIUI 14, some official themes automatically apply rounding to icons, although this option is not always obvious.
How it works:
- 🎨 Go to Settings. → Registration → Theme (or press long on the empty desktop space) → Theme).
- 🔍 In the search bar, type in “rounded icons,” “iOS style,” or “iOS icons".
- 📥 Select one of the themes marked "Adaptive Icons" (e.g. "Mint", "Frosted Glass" or "Neumorphic").
- 🔄 Apply the theme and restart the launcher (long tap on the home screen) → Reset).
⚠️ Note: Not all themes work correctly with third-party icons (e.g. Telegram or WhatsApp can remain square).In this case, you will need to manually replace through the icon settings in the theme menu.

If the icons haven't changed after applying the theme, try first setting the standard "Default" theme, then re-applying the one you've chosen. This resets the launcher's cache.

2.Using the Nova Launcher
If standard themes don’t work, the best solution is the third-party launcher Nova Launcher, which allows you to flexibly customize the shape of icons without root rights and runs stable on MIUI 14.
Step-by-step:
- Install Nova Launcher from Google Play.
- Start the launcher and select it as the main one (when a request appears).
- Go to Settings Nova → Appearance → Style of icons.
- Enable the option "Adaptive icons" and select the form "Circle".
- Set up the "Size" (recommended) 90-100%) and "Retreat" (5-10%) perfect-mapping.

3. Manual editing via ADB (for advanced)
This is suitable for those who are willing to work with ADB-It allows you to force round icons on a system level, but it requires caution.
What you need:
- 🖥️ Computer with installed ADB Tools.
- 📱 Included Debugging by USB on a smartphone (Settings) → The phone. → Version. MIUI → 7 times to press to unlock the developer settings).
- 🔌 Cable USB (preferably original).
Instructions:
- Connect your phone to your PC and confirm access to debugging.
- Open the command line (Windows) or terminal (macOS/Linux) in the adb folder.
- Enter the command to check the connection: adb devices (should display the serial number of the device).
- Use the command to include round icons: adb shell settings put secure icon_shape 1 (where 1 — circle, 0 — square, 2 — birdhouse).
- Restart the launcher or phone.
⚠️ Attention: On some firmware MIUI 14 (especially on the Redmi Note 11/12) This command can be reset once the system is updated, and to fix the changes, you need to repeat the procedure or use Tasker to automatically apply it.

4. Installation of custom icon package
If you want not just round but unique icons with original design, it is worth considering installing third-party packages. The Play Market has hundreds of free and paid sets that are compatible with MIUI 14.
The best packages for round icons:

5. Hidden settings MIUI 14: Theme Editor
MIUI 14 has a built-in theme editor that allows you to manually change the shape of icons without third-party applications.This method does not work on all devices, but it is stable on the Xiaomi 13/14 series and Poco F4/F5.
How to access:
- Open the Topic app and go to My Themes section.
- Click on Edit (pencil icon) in the upper right corner.
- Select the icons → the shape of the icons.
- Pull the slider Round to the right to the maximum (100% for the perfect circle).
- Save the changes and apply the theme.
⚠️ Note: Some firmware may not have this editor or be blocked. If the icons have not changed after saving, try clearing the theme app cache (Settings) → Annexes → Application management → Theme → Clear the cache).

The hidden theme editor is the safest way to do so, as it does not require superuser rights or conflict with updates, but it is not available on all devices and versions of MIUI 14.
6 Problems and Solutions: Why Icons Don't Turn Round
