1. Optimization of the MIUI system keyboard: hidden settings
The Mi Keyboard (set by default on all Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO) has a hidden settings section that is not visible in the standard menu.
- Go to Settings → Additional → Language and input
- Tap on the Mi Keyboard (or Xiaomi Keyboard)
- Click Additional Settings (in some firmwares this item is called Laboratory)
- Activate Expert Mode (confirmation required)

⚠️ Attention: POCO F5 Xiaomi 12T s MIUI 14 Global, after activation of the Expert mode, the Russian layout may disappear. To return it, restart the device and re-select the language in the keyboard settings.
2.Swipe gestures: how to type without lifting your finger
Swipe-input (or Glide Typing) technology allows you to type words by swiping your finger on the keys without taking it off the screen. It works better on Xiaomi than most Android smartphones, thanks to MIUI optimizations for Snapdragon processors.

Critical nuance for MIUI 15: If after the update the keyboard stopped predicting words in Russian, reset its settings through Settings → Annexes → Application management → Mi Keyboard → Warehouse → Clean up the data. It'll bring back the factory prediction algorithms.
4.One Hand: Optimizing the Keyboard for Large Screens
On flagships like Xiaomi 13 Ultra or POCO F5 Pro with screens 6.7" and above, typing with one hand is inconvenient.
How to turn on:
