1. Standard method: through MIUI settings

To set the live wallpaper through standard settings:
- Open the Settings β Lock screen.
- Select the Wallpaper Lock screen (not to be confused with the wallpaper of the main screen!).

- Choose your favorite animation from the ones you like (e.g. Ocean, Space or Clock).
- Click Apply and confirm the selection for the lock screen.

2. via the "Themes" app (MIUI Theme Store)
MIUI Theme Store is Xiaomi's official theme store, where you can find thousands of live wallpapers, including animations for the lock screen.
- π Internet connections (the download weighs from 5 to 50 MB).
- π Permissions to install themes (in some regions, the theme store is blocked β you will need to use them) VPN).

Installation instructions:
- Open the Themes app (the icon with a brush on your desktop).

If standard methods don't work, third-party launchers will come to the rescue. The Nova Launcher + KWGT (Kustom Widget) combination allows you to create custom live wallpaper even on budget Xiaomi.
What you need:
- π± Nova Launcher (free version is suitable).
- π¨ Annex KWGT (There is a free trial period).

Step-by-step:
- Install Nova Launcher and make it the default launcher.

If previous methods have failed, try dedicated live wallpaper apps that bypass MIUI restrictions but may require additional permissions.

6. Problem Solving: Wallpapers do not work, brake or reset
Even after successful installation, live wallpaper on Xiaomiβs lock can be unstable. Consider typical problems and solutions:
- β‘ Wallpaper not animated: Check if animation is included in Settings β Special facilities β Reboot your phone - sometimes the system doesn't apply changes right away.
- π’ Animation slows down: Reduce wallpaper resolution (optimally β 720p Disable background processes in Settings β Annexes β Cleanup.
- π Wallpaper resets after rebooting: Install wallpaper via Nova Launcher or LWP+ β They fix the settings more reliably. Check if the settings are reset due to Energy Saving (turn it off for wallpaper application).
