How to put an auto dialer on Xiaomi Redmi: all ways to MIUI 12/13/14

Why Auto dialing on Xiaomi Redmi doesn’t work the same way as on other Android smartphones

The automatic dial-up feature on Xiaomi Redmi smartphones often raises questions among users, because the manufacturer has modified the standard Android interface, and in MIUI firmware this option is either hidden in non-obvious menus or not at all - depending on the version of the software and device model. For example, on the Redmi Note 10 Pro with MIUI 13, the auto dial is available through the phone settings, and on the Redmi 9A with MIUI 12.5 it will have to be activated through an engineering menu or third-party applications.

Another feature is the link to Xiaomi’s branded services, which can conflict with battery optimization if the system recognizes it as a “background process,” which either delays or shuts down after a reboot, and we tested all the current customization options on Redmi devices from 2020 to 2026 and put together workable solutions, including bypassing MIUI restrictions.

Method 1: Standard setup of auto dial in MIUI (for new versions)

If your Xiaomi Redmi runs MIUI 13/14 or later, try enabling auto dialing via built-in settings.This method works on most models released after 2021 (e.g. Redmi Note 11/12, Redmi K50).

Instructions:

1. Open the phone application (pipe icon).
2. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner → select Settings.
3. Go to the Calls section. → Additional (or Other settings).
4. Find AutoDial (may be called Repeat or Re-Call).
5. Activate the slider and set the interval for repeat dialing (the options are usually available: 5, 10, 30 seconds).

If AutoCall is not on the menu, then your version of MIUI does not support this out of the box function.

Method 2: Engineering menu (for older versions of MIUI or hidden features)

On Redmi smartphones with MIUI 12 and below, the auto dial is often hidden in the engineering menu, a method that requires caution — incorrect settings can disrupt network performance, and we recommend using it only if the standard method did not work.

Step-by-step:

1. Open the Phone app and type the combination: ##4636## (some models may require #8255###).
2. In the menu that opens, select Phone Information (or Phone Information).
3. Scroll down to the Turn on/off radio block – there may be options associated with re-dialing.
4. If you see Auto Redial or Repeat Call, activate it and set the interval (e.g. 5 sec).

⚠️ Warning: Do not change other options in the engineering menu unless you are sure of their purpose. For example, disabling Radio will lead to loss of the network.

If the engineering menu doesn't open, your operator may have blocked access. USSD-codes (described below) or third-party applications.

Method 3: USSD-commands for forced activation of auto dial

Some Xiaomi Redmi models (e.g. Redmi) 8/9) Supports activation of auto dial-up through special USSD-This method works regardless of the version. MIUI, It requires the knowledge of the exact commands for your operator.

General commands (try one by one):

• 📞 *#61# – Checking for forwarding settings (may contain re-dial options).
• 🔄 *#43# – activation of call waiting (sometimes associated with auto dialing).
• ⚙️ ##7378423## - service menu (on some firmwares opens hidden call settings).

After you type in the command, press the call button. If the auto dial is activated, you will see a notification of successful setting. If not, try combinations for your operator:

If no commands are working, your carrier is not supporting auto dialing at the network level, so you only have to use third-party applications.

Method 4: Auto dialing applications (if standard methods don't work)

If the built-in MIUI features don't allow you to set up an auto dial, use third-party apps. We tested 5 popular utilities and selected the two most reliable ones:

To disable the autodial, do:

adb shell settings put global auto_redial_enabled 0

This method is most reliable because it changes system settings at the Android level, but it requires caution that the wrong ADB commands can disrupt the phone.
