Have you just bought a Xiaomi smartphone and want to make sure the specs match the stated ones? Or are you planning to sell the device and need to provide the buyer with accurate data about the model, processor and memory? Perhaps you need to check the IMEI before unlocking the bootloader or find out the version of MIUI to install custom firmware. In any case, the ability to quickly find the phone parameters will save time and protect against errors.
In this article, we will look at all the ways, from standard MIUI menus to engineering codes and third-party applications, learn how to distinguish the original Xiaomi from a fake by serial number, where to look for information about the battery and screen, and how to export a full report on the system for the service center.
1. Basic parameters in the MIUI settings
The easiest way is to use the built-in operating system menus, which works on all Xiaomi smartphones, regardless of the MIUI version (8 to 14) and model (Redmi 4A to Xiaomi 14 Ultra).
To open up basic information:
- Go to Settings (the gear icon on the main screen).
- Scroll down and select About Phone (or About Device in older versions).
- You'll see here: π± Model of device (e.g, 23113RKC4Y For the Redmi Note 12 Pro+). π’ Version. MIUI (for example, MIUI Global 14.0.5). π€ Android version (such as Android 13). π Battery level and condition (if maintained).
For more information, tap a few times on the MIUI version, which will open the developer menu (if it is not already activated) or show additional build data.
π‘
If there is no battery data in the About section, check it through the engineering menu (see Section 3).
2. Viewing IMEI, serial number and data SIM-map
IMEI and serial number are unique identifiers for your device, and they're used to unlock the bootloader, verify the originality, or restore access to your Mi Account. There are three ways to find them:
Method 1. Through settings:
- Open Settings β About the phone β General information.
- Scroll to the block. IMEI β The numbers for each will be indicated here. SIM-Cards (if the smartphone supports Dual) SIM).
- The serial number (S/N) is usually located next to the IMEI.

3. Engineering menu: hidden parameters of the battery, network and sensors
The Engineering Mode contains data that is not shown in the standard settings, so you can see the actual battery status, the strength of the network signal, the calibration of the sensors, and even test the camera. Careful: changing some parameters can lead to unstable phone operation.
To open the engineering menu:
- Open the Phone app.
- Enter the combination: ##4636##
- Select Phone Information (or Battery Information for Battery Data).
You'll find this menu:
| Section | What can I find out? | Example of data |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | Charge level, temperature, voltage, condition | Health: Good (95%), Voltage: 4.2V |
| Usage statistics | Screen time, processor usage | Screen on: 3h 45m, CPU: 12% user |
| Network | Network type (4G/5G), signal strength, operator | LTE Band 3 (1800 MHz), Signal: -92 dBm |
| Sensors | Sensor test (accelerometer, gyroscope, compass) | Accelerometer: X=0.1, Y=9.8, Z=0.3 |
Make sure Health shows Good (if Poor - battery worn out)
The temperature in the idle should be 25-35 Β° C (above 40 Β° C - overheating)
Full-charged voltage: 4.3-4.4V (below 4.2V β battery degraded)

β οΈ Warning: Do not change the settings in the Modem or Radio Information section β this may result in network loss or blocking IMEI. If you are not sure about the actions, take a screenshot of the data and contact the service center.
4.Use of applications for deep diagnostics
Standard MIUI tools provide limited information, and third-party utilities are recommended to provide a full performance analysis, showing not only the baseline parameters, but also data about the processor, GPU, memory and even the temperature of the components in real time.
Top.-3 apps:
- π CPU-Z β It shows the chipset model (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Dimensity 9000), core frequency, RAM volume and memory type (UFS 3.1, LPDDR5X).
- π AIDA64 β The most detailed app with data on sensors, codecs, Bootloader versions and even battery usage history.
- π οΈ DevCheck β a convenient interface with visualization of temperature, loading CPU/GPU and information about the camera (permission, support) HDR10+).
Example of the report from AIDA64 for Xiaomi 13 Pro:
Model: Xiaomi 2210132G (Xiaomi 13 Pro)
Chipset: Qualcomm SM8550-AB (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2)
CPU: 1x 3.2 GHz Kryo + 4x 2.8 GHz Kryo + 3x 2.0 GHz Kryo
GPU: Adreno 740 @ 680 MHz
RAM: 12 GB (LPDDR5X, 8533 Mbps)
Storage: 256 GB (UFS 4.0)These apps can also help identify fakes, for example, if the CPU-Z lists the Mediatek Helio G88 chipset and the box says Snapdragon 778G, you have a clone.

5. Viewing settings through ADB (for advanced users)
If you want data that doesnβt even show the engineering menus and apps (like whether the bootloader or recovery version is unlocked), use ADB (Android Debug Bridge).
Instructions:
- Enable USB debugging in the developer settings (Settings β About Phone β MIUI version (shoot 7 times) β Additional β For developers).
- Connect your phone to your PC and open the terminal (or Command Prompt in Windows).
- Enter the commands: adb devices (should appear your device) adb shell getprop ro.product.model (shows the exact model) adb shell getprop ro.boot.bootloader (shows bootloader status: locked or unlocked)
Useful. ADB-teaming:
| Team team. | What shows |
|---|---|
| adb shell cat /proc/cpuinfo | Detailed information about the processor (architecture, cores) |
| adb shell dumpsys battery | Full battery report (charging cycles, temperature) |
| adb shell getprop ro.miui.ui.version.name | Exact version of the MIUI shell (e.g. V14.0.5.0.TMBCNXM) |
β οΈ Attention: Adb shell su requests root access, and if you're not sure what you're doing, don't type it, it can disrupt the system or cause you to lose your warranty.
6. Export of the full system report for the service
If you contact Xiaomi Service Center (especially under warranty), the wizard may ask for a full report on the system, which can be generated without root rights through a hidden menu.
How to create a report:
- Open the phone app and type in: ##284###
- Select System Test (or Autotest in Russian firmware).
- Press Single Test. β System Information.
- At the bottom of the screen, the Save Report button will appear β click it to save the file in.txt or.xml format.
The report will say:
- π Complete iron specification (including data on the NFS and eMMC).
- π§ Firmware information (Fastboot, Recovery version).
- π‘ Network Logs (if there are connection problems).
- π History of battery use in the last 7 days.
This file can be sent to support Xiaomi or shown to the wizard for quick diagnosis, for example, if there is a line in the report "battery_health: Poor, this will confirm the need for battery replacement under warranty.
π‘
The #284## menu report contains data that even engineering applications don't show, and is often requested for warranty repairs to confirm a malfunction.
7. Checking the originality of the phone by serial number
Xiaomi fakes are often indistinguishable from the originals, but have stripped-down characteristics (for example, an 8MP camera instead of 200MP or a Mediatek processor instead of a Snapdragon). To avoid deception, check the serial number on the official website.
Instructions:
- Find the serial number (S/N) in the settings or on the box.
- Go to mi.com/global/verify.
- Enter the serial number and the captcha.
- If the phone is original, the site will show the model, activation date and warranty status.
Signs of forgery:
- π© The site is making an error called "Invalid serial number".
- π© The serial number on the box and in the settings do not match.
- π© V CPU-Z The processor model does not conform to the official specifications.
- π© There is no support for Widevine L1 (test AIDA64), Why Netflix and Disney are+ They're low-resolution.
β οΈ Note: If you bought a phone with your hands and the check showed that it is not original, do not try to sew it official. MIUI β This can lead to a "brick" (complete incapacity.
