Did you accidentally close an important notification on Xiaomi Redmi and don't know how to return it? or do you want to track which apps have sent you alerts in recent days? Unlike iOS, where the notification history is stored in the Notification Center before manual cleaning, the MIUI shell does not default to save the archive of alerts. However, there are several ways to restore or view old notifications - from built-in features to using ADB and third-party utilities.
In this article, we will discuss 5 proven methods, including hidden MIUI settings, system event log, developer tools and applications from Google Play. We will focus on the nuances for different versions of firmware (MIUI 12-14) and Redmi models (Redmi Note 10 to Redmi 12).
Method 1: Built-in notification log in MIUI (without root)
The easiest way is to use the hidden notification log feature that MIUI has but is disabled by default, which works on most Xiaomi Redmi devices with MIUI 12 firmware and later, including the Redmi Note 11/12, Redmi 10/11 and flagship models.
To activate the journal:
- Open the Settings. β The phone.
- Click 7 times on the MIUI version bar to enable developer mode.
- Back to Settings β Additionally. β For developers.
- Find the Notification History (or Notification History) option and turn it on.
Once activated, all new notifications will be stored in the log to view the history:
- π± Go to Settings. β Notifications β Notification log.
- π This will show alerts for the last 24 hours (in some versions β up to 7 days).
- π Click on the notification to see its contents or reopen the application.

If the Notification Log option is not in the developer menu, upgrade to the latest version of MIUI 13/14 or use the ADB method (see Method 3).
β οΈ Note: Notice log in the MIUI It does not save media files (photos, videos) from alerts, and it may not display notifications from system applications such as Mi Security or Cleaner.
Method 2: View through Security (for MIUI 14)
In recent versions of MIUI 14 (such as the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ or Redmi K60), the notification history is partially duplicated in the Security app. This method does not require developer rights and works out of the box.
Instructions:
- Open the Security app (the shield icon).
- Go to Notification Management or Privacy (the name may vary).
- Select Activity Log or Notification History.
Here you'll see:
- π Time and date of receipt of notice.
- π² Name of the annex that sent the alert.
- π Ability to reopen notification (not for all types).
| MIUI version | Availability of the magazine in "Security" | Maximum storage period |
|---|---|---|
| MIUI 12 | β No. | β |
| MIUI 13 | β οΈ Partially (on some models) | 24 hours. |
| MIUI 14 | β Yes. | 7 days |
Important: On Redmi with Global ROM, the journal may not be in Security, in which case use the ADB method or third-party applications.
Method 3: Use of ADB (for power users)
If the built-in methods donβt work, you can extract notification history through Android Debug Bridge (ADB), a method that works for all Xiaomi Redmi models, but requires a computer connection and basic command line knowledge.
Step-by-step:
- Download and install ADB Tools on PC.
- Turn on USB debugging on your phone (Settings β About Phone β MIUI Version β 7 taps β For developers β USB debugging).
- Connect Redmi to your computer and confirm the debugging permission.
- Open the command line (Windows) or terminal (macOS/Linux) and type:
adb shell dumpsys notification --nolockThis command will display a complete list of notifications, including:
- π Date and time of creation.
- π¦ Application package name (e.g. com.whatsapp).
- π Notification text (if not hidden by the system).
Download ADB Tools from the official website|Enable debugging on USB phone-on|Connect your phone to your PC with the original cable|Check the connection of the adb device team-->
β οΈ Note: Some notifications (e.g. from banking applications) may be encrypted and will not appear in the output ADB. The command also shows only notifications that have not been deleted by the system.
Method 4: Third-Party Applications for Notification History
If you need long-term notification storage (over 7 days), use the specialized apps from Google Play. They work on all Xiaomi Redmi models, but require permission to access notifications.
Top.-3 applications:
- π Notisave β saves text and previews of notifications, supports search and export to.txt.
- π Notification History Log β maintains an archive with the ability to filter by application.
- π± Unnotification β Restores accidentally closed notifications (does not work on all firmware).
How to set up:
- Install the app (such as Notisave).
- Open Settings β Notifications β Access to Notifications.
- Find the app in the list and allow access.
- Return to the app and enable auto-save.
Pros: unlimited storage, user-friendly interface, exportability. Cons: some applications (for example, banking) can block the transmission of notifications to third-party services.
Method 5: Recover deleted notifications through backup
If you regularly back up your Mi Cloud or Google Drive, you may have a chance to recover your notification history from the backup.
- π You recently made a backup (before deleting notifications).
- π± The phone is synchronized with Mi Account.
- π System application data is stored in the backup UI (notice-holder).
Instructions:
- Go to Settings β About Phone β Backup.
- Select the latest backup and click Restore.
- Make sure that there is a Notification or System UI item in the data list.
What if the backup doesnβt restore notifications?
β οΈ Warning: Restore from backup will overwrite your current settings. If you install new apps or change system settings after backup, they will be reset.
Why are some of the notifications not recorded in history?
Even after you turn on the notification log, you may not see all the alerts.
- π System Restrictions: High-security applications (banks, encrypted messengers) can block notifications from being saved.
- βοΈ Application settings: Some programs (such as Telegram or Signal) allow you to disable notifications in your history.
- ποΈ Auto-cleaning: B MIUI Default: Clear notifications older than 24 hours (you can turn off Settings) β Notifications β Additionally).
- π΅ Firmware errors: On some versions MIUI (Like Redmi. 9A s MIUI 12.0.8) The journal is not stable.
How to fix it:
- π§ Check the settings of a particular application (permissions) β notice).
- π Update the firmware to the latest version.
- π± Use third-party applications (see Method 4).

If notifications from a particular application are not saved, try turning off battery optimization for it (Settings β Applications β Battery Management).
