How to open Main Menu on Xiaomi devices: all the ways for smartphones and TVs

The hidden Main Menu (or Service Menu) engineering menu on Xiaomi devices is a powerful tool for diagnosing, testing hardware components, and fine-tuning the system, available on MIUI smartphones, Mi TVs, Mi Box consoles, and even some of the ecosystem’s smart devices, but the manufacturer doesn’t advertise how to open it, leaving it to service centers and power users.

In this article, you will find current methods of logging into Main Menu for different types of Xiaomi devices, including button combinations, ADB commands and hidden gestures. What is Main Menu on Xiaomi and why is it necessary?

3. Enter the code: ##4636## (for the general test menu) or ##3644633## (for the extended engineering menu).
4. Click the call button – the menu will open with tabs Phone Information, Battery Use, etc.

🔹 Note: On some models (e.g. Xiaomi 13 Pro or POCO F5) 4636## may not work, in which case try alternative combinations from the table below.

Method 2: Through settings (for MIUI 12 and later)

If USSD-The codes don't work, try this method:

1. Go to Settings. → The phone.
2. Click 5-7 times in a row on the MIUI version until the notification “You are a developer!” appears.
3. Return to the main settings menu and open Additional settings → For developers.
4. Activate the OEM Unlock and USB Debugging switch.
5. Connect your phone to your PC and use the ADB command: adb shell am start -n com.android.settings/.DevelopmentSettings This will open a hidden developer menu where some Main Menu features are available.

Method 3: Through physical buttons (for older models)

What to Set Up in Main Menu on Xiaomi

The options for the engineering menu depend on the type of device, and below are the key features for smartphones and TVs.

For smartphones (MIUI)

• 📶 Network: Forced selection of communication standard (2G/3G/4G/5G). Manual setting APN Signal strength test (dBm) and verification IMEI.
• 🔋 Battery: Checking the actual battery capacity (in mAh). Resetting usage statistics. Calibration of the charge sensor.

Dangerous settings: what not to change in Main Menu

Some of the options on the engineering menu can permanently disable the device or take away warranties, and here is a list of the riskiest actions:

⚠️ Note: On Xiaomi TVs, it is especially dangerous to change the settings in the Panel Settings section. Incorrect Gamma or Backlight values can lead to physical damage to the matrix that is not covered by the warranty.
