Once saved, the changes will apply instantly, but if the contact is synced with Google, the update can take up to 5 minutes.
- Open Settings β Accounts and Synchronization.
- Select your Google account.
- Activate the Contact Slider (if it is turned off).

Method 2: Change contacts through Google Contacts (web version)
If a contact is saved in a Google account, it is easier to edit it through the browser β especially when you need to massively correct names or delete duplicates β this method is also useful if the phoneβs sync settings are lost.
Instructions:
- Open contacts.google.com on your computer or phone and log in.
- In the list, find the contact you want to change your name, use search or filters (e.g., Other contacts for rarely used numbers).
- Click on the contact, then click the pencil icon (Edit).

- Press Save.
Important: Changes to Google Contacts are automatically synced to your phone, but only if the Redmi Note 8 Pro settings enable sync for that account.

1. MIUI Contacts application (for advanced users)
Some MIUI firmware has hidden functions to manage contacts, to activate them:
- Open the Contacts app.
- Enter the code ##4636## (test menu opens).
- Go to the Usage statistics tab β find Contacts.
- Here you can reset statistics or forcibly update the contact database.
