Xiaomi Poco X3 is one of the most popular budget smartphones with an excellent price/quality ratio, but many users face its main drawback: aggressive advertising in the system applications MIUI. Banners in settings, push notifications from Mi Browser, advertising in Security and even in the call menu - all this spoils the impression of the device. Fortunately, there are several ways if not to remove the ad completely, then at least to minimize it.
In this article, we'll look at 7 proven methods, from basic settings to advanced tricks with ADB and third-party utilities. It's important to understand that Poco X3 runs on custom MIUI firmware, where advertising is built into the system level, which means that some ways will require additional actions, and some ads may come back after updates. But don't worry: even if you're a beginner, there's a solution for your level of training.
1. disable personalized advertising in MIUI settings
The easiest and safest way to deactivate targeted ads is through the settings menu. This won't remove all banners, but will significantly reduce their number. On the Poco X3, the path to these options may vary slightly depending on the version of MIUI (e.g. MIUI 12.5 vs MIUI 14), but the general logic holds.
Open Settings β Google β Advertising and follow the following steps:
- π Reset the advertising ID β This will nullify your profile for targeting.
- π« Disable personalized advertising β switch the slider to the off position..
- π± Opt out of diagnosis β in the same menu, deactivate sending usage data.

If there is no Advertising option in Googleβs settings, update Google Play services in the Play Store or clear the cache of the Google Play Services app through Settings β
Next, go to Settings β About Phone β Additional β Advertising (on some versions, the path may be Settings β Memory β Advertising Services).
- π― Disable "Personalized recommendations".
- π Deactivate βShow interest-based advertising".
- π In the section "Advertising services" remove all ticks.
2. Manual disabling of advertising in system applications
Many banners appear in standard Xiaomi utilities, such as Security, Mi Browser, Music and Video.
| Annex | The path to settings | What to turn off |
|---|---|---|
| Security | Protection β βοΈ β Promotional notices | Remove all checks in the "Recommendations" section |
| Mi Browser | βοΈ β Additionally. β Advertising | Disable "Personalized News" and "Advertising Banners" |
| Music | βοΈ β Recommendations | Deactivate "Show ads on the lock screen" |
| Video | βοΈ β Personal recommendations | Disable "Advertising Clips Before Videos" |
On Poco. X3 firmware MIUI 13+ In the Security application appeared hidden section Cleaner β βοΈ β Privacy, where you can turn off ads in the garbage cleaner, a point that even experienced users often miss.
If after the shutdown the advertisement still appears, try:
- Clear the app cache through Settings β Apps β [Select App] β Memory β Clear the cache.
- Remove updates for system utilities (if available).
- Reboot the phone.
Clear the Security cache | Disable notifications from Mi Browser| Check the Music/Video | Settings Reboot the device-->
3.Using ADB to Deeply Disable Advertising
If the system settings donβt help, itβs time to ADB-Android Debug Bridge, which allows you to disable the ad modules at the system level without requiring root rights. USB In Settings β The phone. β Version. MIUI (Press 7 times, then return to Additional β For developers).
Install. ADB-Tools on PC, connect Poco X3 down USB and execute on the command line:
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.miui.systemAdSolution
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.android.browser
adb shell pm hide com.xiaomi.midrop
adb shell pm hide com.miui.analyticsThese commands are off:
- π‘οΈ The main module of system advertising (systemAdSolution).
- π Built-in Xiaomi browser with banners.
- π€ Analytics Services that Collect Data for Targeting.
- π Background activity of advertising SDK.
What if the ADB canβt see the device?
β οΈ Attention: After update MIUI Some modules may be activated again. Repeat the procedure or use a script to automatically disable (see Section 5).
4. Installation of alternative firmware (for advanced)
If youβre willing to take drastic measures, installing custom firmware (like Pixel Experience or LineageOS) will completely remove Xiaomi ads.
- π§ Loss of warranty (if the phone is under warranty).
- π± Possible bugs with camera or sensors (on Poco) X3 Snapdragon-powered 732G Most of the firmware is stable).
- π Need for manual updates.
Instructions for Poco X3 (surya):
- Unlock the bootloader through Mi Unlock Tool (requires a Xiaomi account binding and wait 7 days).
- Install TWRP for surya (for example, the official version).
- Download the firmware (we recommend Pixel Experience for maximum stability).
- Use TWRP (wipe β install β reboot)

Castom firmware not only removes advertising, but also improves performance due to the absence of unnecessary background MIUI processes.
If youβre afraid to take risks, consider MIUI without third-party ads (e.g. xiaomi.eu), a modified version of the official firmware with remote ad modules, but with all features preserved.
5. Automation of disabling advertising with scripts
Not to be injected ADB-After each update, you can use scripts. For example, Universal Adb Debloater (GUI-interface for managing system applications) or MIUI Adblocker (specialized tool for Xiaomi).
Instructions for MIUI Adblocker:
- Download MIUI Adblocker (Python 3.8+ required).
- Connect Poco X3 to USB with debugging enabled.
- Run the script with the command: python miui_adblocker.py
- Select option 1. Disable all ads and confirm.
Script automatically:
- π Finds all the advertising packages in the system.
- π« Disable them via pm disable-user.
- π Creates a log of disconnected components.
β οΈ Note: Some scripts may disable critical system services (e.g., com.xiaomi.finddevice, which is responsible for device search). β System system β Backup.
6. Blocking Advertising via DNS and VPN
If you see ads in your browser or apps, you can block them at the network level.
- π Private DNS β Go to Settings. β Connections β Private DNS Enter the address dns.adguard.com.
- π VPN Ad-blocking β for example, AdGuard VPN Blokada (not required by root).
- π‘οΈ Local Host File β Apps like AdBlocker can edit hosts without root on some versions of Android.
For Poco X3, Private DNS is the most effective, as it works at the system level and does not require the installation of additional applications. However, note that this will not remove banners in Xiaomi system utilities - only network advertising (for example, in the browser or games).
If you use Blokada, select in the settings:
- π± No Root Mode (for Poco) X3 superuserless).
- π Update the lock lists (Hosts tab").
- π Activate Aggressive Mode to Block Trackers.
7. Resetting settings to factory (last resort)
If none of these methods worked, and the ads became unbearable, you can reset your phone completely, and it will bring the phone back out of the box, but it will delete all the data. On the Poco X3, the procedure takes ~10 minutes and takes place in several stages:
- Back up important data (Settings β System β Backup).
- Go to Settings β About Phone β Resetting β Delete all data.
- Confirm the action (you will need to enter a password or pattern lock).
- After the reboot, do not restore data from the cloud β this can return advertising settings.
After discharge:
- π§ Turn off personalized advertising immediately (see Section 1).
- π± Do not update your system applications (Security, Mi Browser) through the Play Store.
- π Install. ADB-Teams from Section 3 to first Internet connection.
β οΈ Note: On some versions MIUI After reset, you may activate Quick Setup, prompting you to turn on advertising services.
