You want to know how much time you spend on a Xiaomi smartphone, but canโt find the screen time section? This feature is hidden deeper than in pure Android, because the manufacturer has modified the interface in the MIUI shell. Depending on the firmware version and phone model (Redmi Note 12, POCO X5, Xiaomi 13T, etc.), the path to statistics may differ โ we have collected all the current methods in one instruction.
In this article you will find:
- ๐ 3 working methods for finding screen time on any Xiaomi device (including older models on the device) MIUI 11)
- ๐ Decoding charts - what the numbers mean and how to reset them
- โ๏ธ Hidden settings that affect the collection of statistics (and why it may not show)
- ๐ Alternative applications for detailed analysis of phone usage
If you don't find the right section for our guide, check the MIUI version in Settings โ About Phone. Your firmware may be outdated and you need an update. Also, statistics may not be available on enterprise firmware devices or after manual resets.
1. Standard way: through Digital Well-Being
On most modern Xiaomi smartphones (with MIUI 12 and later), screen time statistics are integrated into the system application Digital Wellbeing.
- Open Settings (the gear icon on the main screen).
- Scroll down and select Digital Well-Being and Parental Controls.
- Tap on the schedule Control Panel or Usage Review (name depends on the version of MIUI).
- You'll see here: ๐ฑ Total screen time per day/week ๐ Timetable of activity by hour ๐ Number of screen unlocks โฑ๏ธ Top Apps by Time of Use
If the Digital Well-Being section isn't in the settings, it's disabled.
- Go to Settings โ Applications โ Application Management.
- Find Digital Wellbeing (or Digital Wellbeing in English).
- Slap it on and hit Enable.
๐ก
On some models (e.g. Redmi 10C), the section is called "Use Time." If you don't find it, try searching by settings (the magnifier icon at the top of the screen).
What do you do if the graphs are empty? The stats start to be collected only after the function is activated. If you first opened a section, wait 24 hours for the data to appear. Also check if the stats are turned off in the Mi Account settings (more on this below).
2. Alternative path: through โMi Account Settingsโ
On devices with MIUI 13/14, some of the data about phone usage is duplicated in the user profile, which works even if the Digital Well-Being system application is disabled or deleted:
- Open Settings โ Mi Account (at the top of the list).
- Go to Mi Cloud โ Services (or Cloud on Russian firmware).
- Find the section Usage Statistics or Device Activity.
- This shows the total screen time of the last 7 days, but without app detail.
This method is less informative, but useful if:
- ๐ You reset your phone settings and the statistics in Digital Well-being are zeroed out.
- ๐ฑ You have a business device with limited settings.
- ๐ง You have removed the Digital Wellbeing system application through ADB.
Why is there no statistics in Mi's account?
Important: the statistics in the Mi Account are updated with a delay of up to 6 hours, if you just activated data collection, wait for the next day.
3. For older models: via "Security" (MIUI 11 and below)
On devices with MIUI 11 and older (e.g. Redmi Note 8 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 9), the screen time section is called differently.
- Open the Settings. โ Security folderยป.
- Select Time of Use (or Screen Time on global firmware).
- The system can request a password from the Mi Account - enter it.
- A graph will appear on the screen with data for the current day and week.
Features of this method:
- ๐ Requires a binding account Mi - without it the section will be unavailable.
- ๐ No app detail, only total time and number of unlocks.
- โ ๏ธ On some firmware, the section may be called Parental Control.
Update the firmware to the latest version
Make sure your phone is connected to the internet.
Check if your Mi Account is enabled
Restart the device if the partition does not appear-->
If you have a POCO F1 or other model on MIUI 10, this section may not be available at all, in which case use third-party applications (see Section 5).
4. How to Reset Screen Time Statistics
Phone usage data accumulates and can take up space in memory to reset the counters:
- Open Settings โ Digital Well-being โ Control Panel.
- Tap it on. โฎ (three dots in the upper right corner).
- Choose Reset Statistics or Clear Data.
- Confirm the action (it may be necessary to enter) PIN-fingerprint).
What happens after the dump?
- โณ The statistics will be zeroed only for the current device (the data in the Mi Cloud will remain).
- ๐ A new reporting period will begin from the current day.
- โ ๏ธ Application usage limits (if configured) will not reset โ they must be disabled separately.
๐ก
Resetting statistics does not affect the performance of the phone; it is a purely cosmetic operation, useful for those who keep track of time themselves (for example, in habit trackers).
If there is no reset button, your version of MIUI does not support this feature. Alternative: disable and re-enable Digital Well-being in the application settings (see Section 1).
Third-party annexes for detailed statistics
Xiaomiโs system tools provide basic information, and if you need advanced reports (e.g., by app category, weekly comparison, or data export), install one of these apps:
| Annex | Features | Reference |
|---|---|---|
| ActionDash | ๐ Detailed schedules by day/week/month ๐ Analysis by category (social networks, games, work) ๐ค Export of data to CSV | Google Play |
| Digital Wellbeing (Google) | ๐ Built in Android, but with advanced settings โฑ๏ธ App timers ๐ โSleep timeโ modeยป | Already preinstalled on most devices |
| StayFree | ๐ Comparison with prior periods ๐ก๏ธ Blocking Distracting Applications ๐ Synchronization between devices | Google Play |
How do you choose?
- ๐ฑ If you need minimalism, you need to build a built-in digital wellbeing.
- ๐ For analytics โ ActionDash or StayFree.
- ๐ If privacy is important, use App Usage (no registration required).
๐ก
Before installing third-party apps, check permissions in Settings โ Apps โ Permissions. Some trackers request access to notifications or call logs โ opt out unless it is critical.
Note that third-party apps may show different numbers than system tools, and this is due to different data collection methods, such as ActionDash taking into account time in the background, and Digital Well-being only active use.
6. Why is screen time not shown?
If you donโt see statistics in any of the sections, the reasons may be as follows:
- โ Function disabled in settings: Check Settings โ Additionally. โ Confidentiality โ Usage statistics: Make sure the switch Collecting usage data is active.
- ๐ง Unofficial firmware: On custom firmware (like LineageOS), Xiaomi system tools don't work. Use third-party apps or go back to MIUI.
- ๐ต Corporate Policy Limitations: On Working Phones MDM (Device management) statistics may be blocked. IT-division.
- ๐ 24 hours have passed since the data collection was activated.

What do you do if nothing helps?
- Update your firmware to the latest version (Settings โ About Phone โ System Update).
- Reset your phone settings (Settings โ Additional โ Restore and Reset), but back up first.
- Contact Xiaomi Support via the official website or chat in the Mi Community app.
7.How to reduce screen time: practical tips
If statistics show that you spend too much time on your phone, try these methods:
- โฐ Set limits: In Digital Well-being, set timers for social media and gaming. If you exceed the limit, the app will be blocked.
- ๐ Activate Do Not Disturb Mode: Schedule it for nighttime (Settings) โ Notifications โ Do Not Disturb Mode, which will reduce the temptation to check your phone before bedtime.
- ๐ต Use black and white mode: Settings โ Screen. โ Colors and display style โ Reading mode Grey screen reduces the attractiveness of content.
- ๐ Turn off unnecessary notifications: Go to Settings โ Notifications โ Manage notifications. Turn off alerts from games and social media.
Extreme method: If nothing works, try blocking apps like Forest or Focus To-Do. They block access to distracting programs for a given period, and give virtual rewards for successful execution.
๐ก
The most effective way to reduce screen time is to remove social media from the home screen and hide it in a folder, which studies show reduces usage by 30 percent.
