Method 1: Hidden folder in the standard MIUI Gallery

- Password is forgotten and photos are not available. If you used a Safe folder in MIUI, reset your password through Settings β Accounts β Mi Account β Access Restoration. For third-party applications (such as KeepSafe), use the recovery function by email.
- Hidden photos are visible in the file manager. Turn off the hidden file display: in Mi File Explorer, go to Settings β Show hidden files and deactivate the option. For security, rename the.hidden folder to something neutral (for example,.backup).
- After the MIUI update, the Safe Folder disappeared, which is a bug in some versions of MIUI 14, so you can upgrade to the latest stable firmware or use the alternative, GalleryVault.
